Star Trek - The Next Generation, U.S.S. Enterprise Starship SW (VG+/New)

Overall, I have no problems at all with the buying process. It is always a pleasant experience. The only issue I came across, and it is mainly my fault for not inspecting, is that when I began assembling/painting this model, one of the pieces (the upper engineering hull) is not molded correctly. It is actually missing two chunks of the mold. It is not cracked or damaged in any way, it is just a defect in the molding process which, when assembled, will provide for a gaping hole in the left side of the star drive section (I guess you could say it's a hull breach...lol). Unfortunately, by the time I noticed this, it was past the time frame for returns or exchanges. I have tried contacting AMT (now run by Round 2) and have been informed that this model is no longer in production, so replacement parts are unavailable. I have to give the review 5 stars because this was no fault of anybody but me; however, I wanted to post this so other people may be aware to check your purchases right away in case there are any problems. I, on the other hand, will either have a model with a gaping hole in it, or I will have to look and see if the version I have from when I was a kid is salvageable for parts.

My husband asked for this model for his birthday so I bought it. Package arrived promptly. Like many models, it was shrink-wrapped such that the thin cardboard box was pushed in in places, so I was worried the parts were damaged during shipping. But he opened it and everything seems fine. He is very happy and excited to do this model.

All parts in great shape, but the box was a mess upon arrival. I almost returned it, but it seemed okay once I inventoried every part.
