For anyone that plays World of Warships this may be familiar. When they did the first collaboration with Azur Lane I was interested in how it got started. When I saw the series I had to get it. Personally it appeals to me and I've been an anime fan for awhile ever since Star Blazers hit the airwaves in the 1980s.

Animation is spectacular plot is great

So, I bought this just taking a chance really because it was on sale and thought the cover artwork was cool... I had never heard of the video game. And Wow, this is the best war/drama anime I have seen in a long time! The production value is through the roof and the soundtrack is Excellent. It's a shame there's only 12 episodes. Definitely it's a must-have for those who like drama or war anime. I like the message that was portrayed that while all the older enemies are constantly fighting with each other, the younger characters questioned why they even had to fight in the first place, and wondered if they could become friends with each other instead. So it does carry a positive message amidst all of the battling that takes place. Another anime I would recommend if you enjoyed this show, is KanColle; and going beyond that, Strike Witches and Brave Witches. All of those shows are great!

Great character design and story too.

I loved the artwork and the large quality of different characters. For the price I would have liked it to be a lot longer of a series. As for censored vs uncensored, the majority of the episodes have some implied nudity while episode 6 has a short bath scene with lots of nipples. This is the only episode with actual nudity. There was a wide range of voice actors that added to the depth of the English version. All in all I liked it and the only reason I gave 4 🌟and not 5 stars was because of the length versus price.

I'm a huge fan of the mobile game and the anime. The series starts great, ends a bit odd, but the English voice acting is perfect. Literally all of your favorite actresses are in this one. The translation of game's character design to screen is flawless. Must have for any fan of the mobile game.

The only thing I wish they did was to at least add a few phone calls and lines referring to the Commander or Mr. Commander like the ship girls do when the commander isn't around in the game.
