Pills are large , but I love the strength.

I really like the products I buy from Amazing Formulas. I buy this to keep my brain healthy since my dad has Alzheimer's disease and vascular dementia and I want to do whatever I can to prevent it. The directions are to take one tablet, one to three times daily, with food. 1000mg of amino acid acetyl L carnitine. The bottle has 120 tablets are oval shaped, fairly large. They are coated for easier swallowing.Helps convert Fatty Acids into Energy and promotes healthy glucose metabolismAcetyl-l-carnitine is an acetyl ester of l-carnitine. It is a naturally occurring amino acid derivative found mainly in in the brain, nerve, heart, liver and sperm cells. It supports energy production and acts as a mitochondrial antioxidant, which provides anti-aging nutrition and protects neurons from radical damage.

I found these to fit the bill. These are 1000 mg tablets while there is nothing out there which is more than 750 mg per tablet/capsule. Most of them are 500 mg capsules and the dose is 1000 mg twice daily. These do not smell so good, but that is because it is a tablet. I think the powder inside a capsule would also not smell good. They could be a little hard to swallow for some, but that is due to the 1 gram size. I have no difficulty swallowing these. I took one twice daily for the last month and have felt more awake and alert. I bought two bottles, currently on my second one. I plan to continue buying this product from this maker.

They help me get through the day

These are huge and hard to swallow. They also have a very weird smell. I have been using a pill cutter to cut them in half to make it easier to swallow.

but it tastes/smells like vinegar. I chew up a cracker or something small like that and add the pill to it and swallow quickly.

Well the taste is vinegar-like, but they are pretty effective. Somewhat reduced my brain fog by the third day. I have to take 1000 mg daily to feel the effect. It's best to take it on an empty stomach for full bioavailability. Only downside is that the tablets are horsepills, but I don't mind.
