The commemorates General George Washington's crossing of the Delaware River on the night of December 25–26, 1776, during the American Revolutionary War. Emmanuel Gottlieb Leutze (1816-68) was the German-born, German-educated painter of this American icon. The original was part of the collection at the Kunsthalle in Bremen, Germany, and was destroyed in a bombing raid in 1942, during World War II. Leutze painted two more versions, one of which is now in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

Not a real canvas picture
This picture looks nice on the computer screen but reality was different. I returned the picture right away. It is NOT a framed canvas. Also the frame is plastic - not wooden as described.

Ride or die
America is close to my heart and if you love George Washington and a bunch of bad mafrakas locked and cocked like I do you will love this.

For the patriot
I got this painting reproduction for my husband's birthday and it was a hit! The picture quality and everything was great (maybe a little bright/contrasty compared the original) and it even came in a frame! Our frame was a little chipped on one corner but not very noticeable. I am so glad I got this and the price seems fair for what you get!

Took Awhile
Ordered for the blank wall in our office after the previous art was moved elsewhere. It looks fantastic with exceptionally vibrant color, and it's gotten several compliments already. Only qualm was the fact it took like 2 months to get shipped. I joked with my coworkers that they had to paint it when I ordered it before they could ship it.

A beautiful reproduction and a great value!
Wow, this painting reproduction is amazing. It looks fantastic in our home and the colors are vibrant. What a great value! The successful attack at Trenton, NJ was the turning point in the Revolution. The painting is packaged well and came undamaged. The seller thoughtfully packages handling gloves, nails, and a small level for hanging.
