Woks very well.
Works very well. can go on the internet without Geographical restrictions. I can go to the Youbue etc. website in mainland China. We only sued it in mainland China, even though we both went to Hong Kong and Macao. I don't think it can work on both, but you can choose any one of the regions to activate the card and use it in that area. $20 for one month is a good price. I will buy it again when my next trip to China.

Did not work at all, except at Pudong airport
A big mistake to buy this card again: I used this card last year and it worked flawlessly. But this time it did not! I used the same phone and had set up APN etc. as required, but I could only get mobile data service in Shanghai Pudong airport. Once I landed in my hometown - a big city in central China, it did not have service at all. In the following days I repeatedly called the tech support number listed on the package, talked to reps in English and Chinese - they all were very nice but offered no real help, only told me that their backend showed no problem for my card and asked me to reset and reboot my phone without resolving the problem. I had no data service, could not use Wechat Pay or access any website. It almost ruined my travel experience! Strangely enough, during my return trip to US, once I landed in Pudong for connection flight, the card worked again. Is this card supposed to work only in Shanghai now? I can't believe it. Will never use it again.

Works perfectly in Beijing
Used from late Jan to early feb 2024. In Beijing, access to Google, YouTube and everything. Only inconvenience is no local number. But alipay on the go with US credit card is Gold. The entire two weeks. I did not touch my credit card, except in dutyfree shop when exit the airport. At the end of my 10day trip, was able to use around 6g data, was even trying to burn some data by binge watching YouTube. So the daily WeChat and alipay and taobao shouldn't use that much data. With alipay, anything less than 200rmb there's no fee, this is at the time when I used it. May or May not change later. Alipay you can also look for ride/taxi. But the phone number showing was my Google voice. I never tried, but theoretically you can use it without calling,or maybe not. Took a long time for the card to arrive me. So order at least a month and half before your trip. Mine ordered in November 23, arrived mid December 23. With one year expiration of December 24. Installation was easy, did it right before flight touchdown in Beijing. Remember set roaming. There is also keypad short cuts to check balance (it's printed on the envelope I never knew it until I returned us). You can also top off if used up data for hkd 150, within 30 days of expiration. Don't throw away the card body. Because you will need the puk # to refill. Hope that helps!! Good luck enjoy your trip to mainland!!

Worked perfectly in Shanghai
Works perfectly in Shanghai and the surrounding areas, including Huangshan and Hangzhou. We were able to share data across multiple devices (mobile phones and tablets). Not only was the service faster than the hotel's connection, it allowed connections to Google and the other Chinese banned services without a VPN. My VPN didn't work on the hotel's WiFi, gladly I had this sim card at the ready. I didn't realize how much I relied on Google and Yahoo services until I was in China. This card is data only, but I was able to send texts with WiFi calling turned on. I will definitely buy this SIM card for my next trip.

Easy and works great
This works great for my 2 month trip to China. It worked as soon as I put the SIM card inside the phone. The app was easy to install and to load money. The fact that you can top it off worked great if you need extra data, especially you watch YouTube a lot. It’s definitely cheaper than paying AT & T $10 a day for 2 months. I was able to access all my Google accounts, and had no issue using local Chinese app as well. Occasionally needed some tweak to work specific app such as when I ordered take out and things the app automatically put me in Hong Kong district, but it was quick and easy to fix.I have to say though don’t bother calling the tech support, it was an recordings of some answers to common issues, but anything specific they don’t have any live person, at least not when I called late at night despite it said 24h support. I did try to use their chat support, started wit English but got no answer. But if you can type in Chinese, their support was quick?

Somewhat disappointed
I inserted the SIM card into my iPhone 13 as soon as I landed in Beijing, but it would not connect to the Internet. The error message says my roaming was turned off, but the problem was the roaming selection was not even shown under Cellular. The next day, the roaming on/off option appeared without my doing anything. I turned the roaming on and my phone got connected to the internet. But I am not able to make calls or receive calls. Today is Day 3, I am still not able to. The card came with numbers to call. I will call and see what happens.

Work Great in China
I bought two sim cards, both worked great in China. I travelled to several cities in mid- and southern China; the sim cards worked all the time in cities and rural parts. To use, remember to turn on Cellular-->Data Roaming on your iPhone. Really enjoyed the convenience of direct access to Gmail, Instagram, Google, Youtube, etc. Although the sim card cannot be used for messaging and calling, it has a number and can receive verification codes (not always but worked most of the time). Very happy with my purchase and highly recommend this sim card!

Same phone. Not working anymore
This is the third time I bought this item. It worked fine during my trips in Jan and Jun 2024. However, this time it shows no signal when I arrived Beijing and made me unable to call cap and almost miss my train. I used the same phone as the last two times. SIM does not work on my father's Iphone 15 neither. Please let me know if I can do anything to activate it and then I will change the review.
