Learning To Tell Time
After reading several other reviews on Amazon, I must say that I do agree that the Rock'n Learn music and visuals can be a bit obnoxious for adults, but kids sure do seem to love them (we turn the volume down just enough for my son to be able to hear it when he watches them)...Rock'N Learn Telling Time gives a wonderful explanation of time concepts. My 5 year old son was very interested in clocks so I decided to introduce the concepts by ordering this video along with a Mini Judy clock for him to learn on. He absolutely loved being able to follow along with the video on his own clock he could manipulate himself.Within two weeks he was telling time down to the nearest minute and wants to take his Mini Judy clock everywhere to practice.

Rock and learn has grown on me
I use it as a supplemental learning show when my five year olds need to focus on specific learning subjects they are great for memorizing and more engaging than a regular cartoon.

Super for toddlers!
My 2 1/2 yr old wakes up asking for this and wants it at bed time. He can already count to 60 by 5s from watching it so much. The dvd gets annoying to me but seeing him run grab his play clock and numbers he'd never touched before seeing this is worth it. After only a few watches he can put his 1-12 blocks in order in the clock face. This series is just great to engage the little ones. He likes the others in this series we have but this one is at and away his favorite. His concept of time has increased so much since he has learned what the hands mean on the clock.

My son is learning to tell time with this!
I was surprised by the low rating on this and almost didn't bother putting it on for my son but we like the Rock N Learn series so we tried it and this is awesome! My son is 4.5 and he is truly learning to tell time with this. Its cheesy but thats okay. We pit it on 2-3 times per week and so far this is our favorite time telling show.

The 2nd time around and you rocked in my house hold again
I bought this DVD after buying shapes, colors, and counting for my 1 yr old so I said what the heck let me give this one a try.My 1sf grader loved this DVD and although she did not have problems with telling time I just thought this will be great to add to our media library and as soon as we poped it in we rocked the house with telling time in our house hold.I also just ordered the "Money & Making Change DVD Can't wait to see if it's worth it. But as of now hello to a beautiful relationship.

Eh...it's okay.
As a homeschooling mama, I was looking for a fun, engaging way to teach my second grader to tell time. I popped in the video and my son kept saying, "I don't understand what it's talking about." I told him to be patient and keep watching...it wasn't getting any better. While watching it with him, I understood why it was so tricky. The whole video is done in this computer voice RAP...yes, rap. It's really distracting and hard to follow. I loved the animation and such, but wish there was just a normal voice explaining things, rather than rapping and rhyming. I turned it off, pulled out a clock chart that I bought from Lakeshore Learning Store, and within 15 minutes, he was telling time. I should have just done that in the first place. I also downloaded a "time telling" app on the iPad that he could play to reinforce what I taught him. You can read more about my homeschool favorites at my blog, "Or so she says...".

My kids love it. Extremely thorough.
While I can't stand the music and ultra-computerized voices, my two boys, ages four and six LOVE this video. It covers everything you could think of and more, from telling time by the hour to the quarter hour to five minutes to each minute. It covers digital clocks, stop watches, calendars, days, weeks, months, etc. It absolutely will teach your kids everything you'd like them to know about time.I highly recommend starting with Blue's Clues Telling Time with Steve to start with and then move to this video. This one lacks Steve's wonderful humor and Blue's Clue's sweet charm and great music. But it does the job and the kids love it. So I just have to endure the synthesizers and bad rhyming!

Simply the best learning DVD for young kids to learn to read time. It should be in every first and second grade class.
This DVD was beautifully done. It really helped my child grasped the concept of reading a time clock. The upbeat music and rhyming really helped him to stay interested and entertained. Some parts went a little too fast for him so you should really have your remote to pause for your child to catch up. I would definitely recommend this DVD to any parent whose child is struggling. This should definitely be put in classrooms for kids to have a fun time learning to read a clock.
