Diary of a Med Student

This is a book that will make you cry, laugh, think, and feel. I was blown away by the depth of personal reflection and the excellent storytelling from these medical students all over the U.S and abroad. There is an incredible variety in the types of experiences they've had, making this book an exciting page-turner for me. I'd recommend this book to anyone who is interested in applying to medical school, for those who are currently in medical school, and for people who have completed this stage of their training and want to reminisce on the shared experiences that are in many ways a rite of passage for this fulfilling and often very emotional career path.

This book has made me smile, chuckle, and bawl my eyes out. During the past week, as I memorized different anemias and lymphomas until midnight, I would look forward to read this book at night. I would open the book feeling drained from the day’s studying and close it feeling excited to study the next day.It’s been really exciting to see this book hit rankings as the #1 new bestseller in healthcare and medicine. It was inspiring to read Dr. Siddiqui’s story, the founder of Sketchy Medical. And it was humbling to read the positive remarks by the founders of Boards and Beyond and OnlineMedEd and physician-author, Abraham Verghese.I want to add that it was powerful to start with Tales of Sorrow and end with Tales of Inspiration. Some stories I even stopped, paused, and read again because I was in disbelief by how uncannily relatable they were, or how a mere medical student expertly handled a traumatic and grieving situation, or how beautiful someone’s love story was.I would encourage every premed, med student, resident, physician, or anyone looking for a new read to buy this amazing book!Also, 100% of the profits goes towards the DOAMS scholarship fund for med students.

This book was phenomenal in its examination of the medical student experience. The brief stories are perfect for a nightly read when you want to laugh, cry, or be inspired. A great read for anyone thinking about joining or currently in the medical profession.

This book is a book I highly recommend for anyone especially med students. The stories inside I find very enjoyable and the book is amazing in quality. I reminds me with my old days in medical school with all the joy and sorrow but wonderful experience.
