Exactly what I needed! Please read last sentence, sums it up for a lot of you.
I am currently using this in conjunction with the Belkin Thunderbolt 3 Dock Pro and am using it simply to extend the number of inputs my dock has, especially in regards to USB-C. I think a lot of reviewers bought this to provide a cheap all-in-one solution to docking their laptops, and that's not what this device should be used for (but I want to talk about the good first). I wanted a way to attach two USB-C mobile hard drives (the Lacie porsche as provided on Apples' website), but was hesitant with the issues other reviewers are expressing about power pass-through. However, this is still running (powering) my mobile hard-drives and also gives me two additional USB-A ports, which I am using for my Logitech mouse and keyboard.I am extremely happy with this products ability to give me just a few more ports for an already powerful docking station. With regards to the negative reviews about the Belkin hub, regarding power pass-through, display issues, and various other complaints; all I have to say is these people should do their research. This product is not meant to run their entire desktop suite and is simply to extend ports for peripherals like printers, mice, hard drives, etc. I will say with all the negative reviews and misconceptions around this product, I was hesitant to purchase it for exactly that, an extension of my peripheral devices, and mostly my hard-drives. All I can say is that, without getting into complicated details, Intel has only just released this year, the chip that is used to split and daisy chain USB-C devices and this is the first cheap attempt to do that. Please do your research as this isn't to create an all-in-one docking station. If you want power pass-through, to run your display, or even to charge your laptop, this product is not for you.

What? Can't believe it
This is the second usb port I bought for the Dell XPS which does not come with the old style USB ports. The first one which I'm in process of returning kept losing connection, and when I used my trusty bluetooth mouse, that dock stopped. But this one works as advertised. I transferred 1.2 GB data from the XPS to an external SSD in just over an hour. I know it's says it's faster, but it worked. Relief for me. I'll be doing more so I'll see how it holds up during the return period. Thanks.

Works great. Research for purchasing.
Works great as USB-C hub. The product page does not explain that it does not work as a display port. I assumed that it did not support that feature, so I am not personally disappointed by that. However the product page should explain that. The Belkin website does indicate that this product does not support video out to monitors. I see a lot of reviews from people who expected this to enable them to plug in two displays. If I have one minor complaint about this device, it is that the USB-C cable is too short. It is only a few inches long. My laptop is on a stand, so the USB hub is suspended in air off my desk, putting strain on the USB-C port in my laptop. I have propped the hub up on something to take the strain off the port, but it would be nice if it included a short extension.

belkin figures out to charge fifty bucks for ten dollar cable.
I have purchased so much garbage trying to make a decent external HD connection for the new macbook that I think I'm as done doing business with amazon as I am done doing business with all these crap cable makers. DOESNT AMAZON BEAR ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR SELLING ALL THIS CRAP? This hub (and belkin) is the most offensive of the newest breed of macbook cables. MOST IMPORTANT: IT DOESNT CHARGE COMPUTER WITH USBc connector. Previous to release, ALL Belkin ads touted this as the #1 reason for buying this stupid hub in the first place! Would have thought Belkin was better than most of the crap china cable makers... but apparently not. Already purchased the Anker version of this cable, and was going to return it...until now. Both are weak solutions to a simple problem -- but right now, the belkin version is weaker.

Multiple ports don't work Simultaneously!
I use a wireless mouse for my laptop and while that is plugged into the port it works just fine, however when I add a hard drive to the hub, the mouse stops working. I bought this so that I could use both at the same time however it appears that it isn't the case. I have another hard drive coming today so hopefully Bothe drives will work at the same time because if not then I will come back and remove a star. I will say however, that it is very compact and responsive with one thing plugged into it so I cannot complain on that end.

Works Great on Apple and Andriod
I understand the complaints regarding this product not having pass through charging on the 12 inch MBP. The details describing the product did not claim to charge, so I was looking for a simple USB C hub. This thing is awesome, I picked it up for $11 bucks warehouse deal. I use it on an apple and andriod device. It works flawlessly using both USB A and USB C flash drives plugged into the hub. The built in USB C cord is short, but convenient. Only a few inches long and tucks inside of unit. The ports are somewhat close, might make big Flash drives tight to fit 4 into it... All in all, I have dozens of dongles living in the USB C transition, this little hub is one of the best !

Works great for what it's designed for!
I really like it's compact size, sleek design and functionality. I have a 2018 MacBook Pro that I use primarily for a pro audio recording rig. The MBP came with 4 usb c ports and now I need a fifth one to add a usb c audio interface. I use the Belkin to power the interface and an external hard drive and that works perfectly. I leave my charger and Thunderbolt Display connected to the computer along with an ethernet to usb c adapter. Heck, the Belkin even comes with two USB 2 ports that I've decided to alleviate TBD from one of its hub duties and moved a usb connection from it over to the Belkin. Excellent value!
