Awesome science project!
This was a fun science project for us. Purchased these 3 times with about 1 making it each time to at leaast a couple feet tall. Follow the directions and I'd expect the same results. Our goal was to plant outside, unsure if they would live. We live just outside of Indianapolis, Indiana. Winter had several days with a low around -5 degrees Fahrenheit and it's thriving. It grows at a Weeping willows pace, which is rapid in my opinion. It's been growing 2 years and 8 months and in the ground roughly half of that. It is 15' tall in the picture. It has never been trimmed but we used bungee cords/straps to push it upward as you can see in the picture. We wanted something similar to a Weeping Willow but not as massive. It has been referred to as sideshow Bob since applying the bungee cords. Lol

Great for beginners. I started with the three, now I've got dozens
I bought these willow shoots four years ago, and they're one of the best things I've bought on Amazon. I'm reviewing this item now because in the years since I received the three shoots, I've not only got the biggest of the original three trees, but also several dozen more trees growing from cuttings. I was able to grow the originals (lost one, unfortunately) but I've also been able to propagate many cuttings as the trees grow. Because I'm trying to promote thick trunk growth, I prune the fastest growing branches pretty regularly. When I prune branches I save the cuttings for new trees. I scrape the bark at the base of the cutting, and dip it into root hormone powder. Then, just like the originals, I let them soak in water until their roots start to grow, which they inevitably do. When the roots have grown healthy enough, I pot the cuttings and keep them fertilized. These are hearty trees. It's spring, and I'm propagating a new batch of cuttings. I would say that if you're interested in growing trees in a bonsai style, and you don't consider yourself a master gardener, this is a very good tree to start with. The attached photos show the "mama" where you can see the cut on the original shoot, but also the "kids" that are thriving from cuttings, as well as the latest "babies" developing their roots in water.

Willow cutting
They died after a couple of months when I got them in th dirt 🥺 but they did grow leafs really fast and it was beautiful. There was not a variety there were multiples though. They were a decent size. But I would purchase again. They also arrived fairly fast.

Be patient
Not gonna lie when I received what I thought was a plant I was shook. Three sticks came, and I expressed a few expletives and told my daughter this wasn’t what I ordered. She went to the reviews and read them and it was exactly what I ordered. Then we start laughing. I can make anything grow so I proceeded to get my vases and put the 2 to 3 inches of water in the bottom and place the sticks inside the vase in a very well lit area of the house. Within a few days, they immediately started to root. I was elated then the task of me seeking out the proper soil so that I can plant them in pots, well that took another few days and while I waited, they started to bud. This brought me quite a bit of joy as I received these around the time that my granddaughter was born, so they are growing together. Every day, looking at them and seeing how they are transforming has brought me tremendous joy, I am definitely awaiting what the final result will be with this beautiful plant. Just a sidenote, always read the details of the product. For me it has been a happy happenstance. I would definitely take on this task again in the future

Iffy.
My seedling never sprouted but I honestly couldn't say if it was my fault or something wasn't right about it.
