My yard is so pretty
Living in dry West Texas, I basically lost my whole yard to the past several years' heat. Unfortunately, with no grass, our soil has become compacted and so much dust because there's nothing to anchor it down. Dust everywhere. Without something growing, the dry soil gets compacted and makes it even harder to grow anything. We want to grow more drought-tolerant grass next year, but needed to remediate and break up our hard soil. Hairy Vetch is one of the best things you can use to put nutrients back into the soil and make it more hospitable. We scattered the seeds with a combination of other cover crops over our front and back yard and watered pretty well. We got a bunch of rain over the past couple of weeks and it has basically exploded and our yard is now covered in bright green soft leaves. It's so pretty and good for our soil. We will keep it until it's time to spread grass seed and will mow it down and leave it for green compost. It sprouts fast, is great for pollinators and is super soft to walk on. We might just keep it and plant more next year while we're overhauling the yards. It also helps choke out weeds! If your yard needs some life put back into it, seriously consider using this hairy vetch!

Very pleased with germination rate

Happy with seeds but not happy with company.
The seeds did well, good germination rate. However, I was VERY annoyed to discover that these same seeds are 30% LESS on the Outside Pride website. It looks like all of their seeds are more expensive on Amazon than their website. I will not order from this seller again on Amazon. I will not order from their website, either because I am displeased with their dual pricing strategy.

Beautiful!
Love, love this, a work in progress!! The Hairy Vetch, together with clover grass just made my surrounding chicken coop fabulous!! A little overcast but a beautiful addition! The chickens love it so I planted it around the fencing. I grew a variety of grass in pallets in their run though 🌼☘️🌞

Extremely low to zero germination rate. Poor customer service.
I purchased 5 pounds of this hairy vetch at the beginning of April and planted it almost immediately. I scuffed up the soil, broadcast the seed then raked over it again. It rained often and if it started to dry out, I watered it. Daytime temps were in the low 70's for several weeks. It's been almost 1 month and there is zero sign of any plants coming up. I reached out to the manufacturer and the only solution they had for me was "Sorry." Outsidepride sold me a defective product and will not stand behind it. I am out $30 and a lot of hard work. They could at least offer to replace the seed. Poor customer service.
