I saw a review which named this the best 3D pen for kids but did not give an age range. Does the manufacturer have a recommended age for this pen?

It does not provide the age range, but mentioned it is designed for adults use, and I find the operation is little complicated for young kids, help this helps.

What size pla filament does this use?

This pen uses 1.75mm PLA (or ABS) filament. It works best with SCRIB3D filament, which is available for purchase on Amazon as well.

This item does not use a charger. You can use any power adapter that is 3.95mm barrel, center positive and 5V at least 2amp.

No change in color when it melts.

The colors were great although the pen itself is difficult to use so the kid has to have already a good grip and control. The color before it melts is what you get after too.
