Tofu Press - Grey Tofu Presser Removes Water for Better Texture and Taste

I was looking for something that can help me in making Paneer (aka cottage cheese). I generally use cheese cloth and tie the milk in it, after draining all the excess water and then put it under heavy weights. I saw this tofu press machine and thought of using this to make paneer. I actually works. After coagulation of the milk using Vinegar, I drained all the water and then kept the crumbles in this tofu press, closed the lid and let it sit for an hour. After an hour I saw nice and firm paneer ready and the excess water was in the lower chamber. I did drain the excess water during this hour but within an hour, my paneer was ready. Saved a lot of time that I used to spend on cheese cloth and then adjusting it under weight etc. This Tofu press is not just for firming the tofu, but also works in making Paneer. The spring is firm and holds the press firmly to squeeze every drop of water from the coagulated milk. IT also helped in eliminating those extra weights and the mess from my kitchen. Home made tofu is pretty easy with this tofu press. Very simple but yet effective. I was able to make my tofu just as the store bought and i can make sure it's clean and doesn't contain bad stuff. Though it's a little small, i wish it about 50% bigger then that'd be a perfect portion size for us.

I eat a fair amount of tofu and I'm telling you this thing is awesome, how did I survive this long without this little kitchen gadget?! Sure you can continue to do the balancing act on your counter with paper towels and heavy objects...or make your life just a little easier. I haven't used it for making tofu, but have pressed store bought and it works great. Its super easy to use, cleans up very easily with a quick little rinse. I even bought one for my sister who didn't know she needed it until I gave her one.

I have wanted a tofu presser for a while. I was tired of stacking books, pots, and/or cutting boards to press out the water. I finally broke down and bought this bad boy. I am happy with it, for the most part. I have only pressed one extra firm tofu block - I do not recommend. I couldn't latch all of the latches and still had to stack books, pots, and/or cutting boards to press down to even latch the ones that I could get. Which is why I couldn't give the full 5 stars. I'm hopeful with a less dense tofu it will be easier/more successful.

Works great. Took a couple tries to make sure i got it put bzck correctly after i opened to wash but was easy enougg to wash clwan and use. My mom bought ien as well. We both like it. Seems like it will last a while.

Good results. Hard to get the latches to hook—used four times and the latches were about to break every time and will soon. Cheap plastic is cheap plastic. Need to use a weight to keep the pressure on and that’s not too disappointing given the benefits of uniformly pressed tofu.

Used for BBQ tofu. Was easy to press the tofu. MUCH easier than hand pressing.

Bought two of these for Christmas presents and they worked for my family members so well! Game changer for tofu eaters.
