Dinosaurs for Kids

I was looking for a dinosaur book written from a creation perspective to supplement our homeschool curriculum. Amazon had 3 books that I looked at to fill that void. I ultimately chose this book because of the realistic artistic renditions, the other 2 books that I looked at had more cartoonish animation and I was worried about confusing my children with what was fiction and what was non-fiction. I also chose this book because of the author Ken Ham being the lead on the Creation Museum and the site Answers in Genesis. I grew up being taught that the earth is millions of years old and that dinosaurs lived before man, etc. I have always believed in a literal 6-day creation by God and I have always accepted that dinosaurs had certainly existed, but I could not find a way to rectify the two separate beliefs in my mind. I'm so thankful to find a book by someone who can make the science of dinosaurs tie into creation. I'm not saying that Ken Ham has all the answers, obviously no one does, but he provides enough evidence to support me believing his theory as much as any other theory out there related to the age of the earth and evolution in general. This book is beautifully written by Ken Ham. He provides a lot of information on a variety of different dinosaurs and he ties it all in beautifully with creation, Noah's Ark, and salvation. He presents the path to salvation several times throughout the book. He provides challenging (yet non-confrontational) questions to pose to those around us who think they know all the answers about the existence of dinosaurs, the age of the earth, etc. He shows numerous mistakes that the scientific community has already admitted to regarding the interpretation of fossils, so obviously we know that there are even more mistakes out there that haven't been brought to light yet. He points out that when visiting museums, you can expect to see some factual things regarding dinosaurs, but that you will also see a lot of conjecture presented as fact. I think this will be perfect for preparing my children for facing some difficult situations regarding the topic of dinosaurs. Again, I'm not saying Ken Ham has it all correct, but I believe his theory is valid. I am so pleased that I chose this book, I think my kids will love it and it has helped me with my understanding also. *UPDATE 6-14-13* I have received several other Christian dinosaur books since my review of this book, including The Great Dinosaur Mystery, A is for Adam:The Gospel of Genesis, D is for Dinosaur, and Dinosaurs of Eden. For what it's worth, this book is still my favorite. I think it has the best illustrations and the best presentation of information.

Love the illustrations and content! My little dino guy loves learning about dinosaurs and I love how they incorporated creation!

This book has a wealth of information in it even if it isn't very big. Great illustrations, biblical truth, science & a dose of fun as well - expect nothing less from Ken Ham! If you have a first grader or older this would be suitable, it's difficult for anyone younger than that.

The Author has a solid theology about creation and true biblical truth. We love this book and as an adult, i have learned much!

Great book packed full of the gospel.

I was so excited to read this book and have it for some kiddos. It is so excellent to finally find a dinosaur book that is based on the truth of the Bible and not the lies/myths of evolution! The art work is great, the information is great, and it was a good read even for me. I especially love how the gospel is clearly presented in this book too. Hoping to buy more of put them out in lending libraries for others to read.

My boys 4 and 2 are obsessed with this book been reading it every night for the past 3 months........ Great illustrations and also the gospel narrative is woven into the book. Very good book. Highly recommend.

This book is a top ten for my kiddos. And, it’s a top ten for me because of its Biblical approach to such a fantastical subject! Like who doesn’t like dinosaurs?!?! The art is beautiful, realistic and not overly-dramatic. Visually-rich, this book presents clear and compelling evidence for dinosaurs existing with man, and answers many of the questions and contradictions presented by evolutionists. It is refreshing to see the impressive evidence of dinosaur/man coexistence that has been ignored or actually hidden by secular scientists who are supposed to be objective in their inquiry. As a teacher, I highly recommend this book to encourage children use critical thinking skills as they examine this evidence for creation, comparing and contrasting its merits with those of the theory (ie; conjecture) of evolution.

Brilliant book bought for my son and 2 nephews. Love the fact it shares the truth rather than evolutionary theories! Best of all they love it. Delivery was fast and everything was well packed. Highly recommend.

A present for my grandson who is 6, probably more suitable for an older child but content excellent.
