The real deal
Okay, so, let's be real. When you're standing in front of the brewing gear, looking at all the shiny grinders and artisan kettles, a box of paper filters doesn't exactly get your heart racing. But the thing is, they're the silent partner. The foundation. And if you're serious about getting the good stuff, you can't just pick any old paper. These #4 cones in the unbleached brown? They're the real deal.First off, they just feel right. The texture is a little more earthy, a little more real. You hold one, and you know it's not trying to be anything it's not. That unbleached paper means you're not getting any weird, chemical aftertaste. You know that tell-tale "papery" flavor you sometimes get? That's gone. You're just getting the coffee, pure and simple, and that's the whole point, isn't it?The conical shape is key, too. When you’re dialing in a pour-over, the cone naturally guides the water through the grounds in a really even, consistent way. It helps you build a solid, flat brew bed, which means a more balanced extraction. No channeling, no wasted flavor. Just a clean, delicious cup that lets the coffee's terroir—the unique taste of where it's from—really shine through.I always give them a quick rinse with hot water first. It's a little ritual, you know? It gets rid of any lingering paper dust and preheats the whole setup. You can almost feel the coffee saying "thank you" for the effort. It’s the kind of small detail that makes a big difference. In the end, it’s about respect. Respect for the beans, respect for the process, and respect for the person you're brewing for. These filters do just that. They get out of the way and let the coffee do the talking. They're simple, they're effective, and they're exactly what you need.

Taller Design Makes a Big Difference
I like these filters a lot more than the standard ones. They’re noticeably taller, which means more water actually stays inside the filter instead of spilling over or causing the sides to fold in like the crimped‑edge versions tend to do. The unbleached paper feels sturdy, and they hold their shape well even when the grounds get saturated. No blowouts, no collapsing walls — just a cleaner, more consistent brew. If you’ve had issues with shorter filters folding or overflowing, these are a simple upgrade that makes the whole process smoother.

Un Cafe Creme, S’il Vois Plait
I started drinking green tea last year, for the most part. Coffee had kind of lost its grip on my life—blessed though its daily memory may be. I got rid of the trendy espresso machine, the Euro-brewing wonders, and reverted to the simple French single-cup maker. I only want a coffee once a month or so, but when I do, it’s now a lot more fun and pleasant to do it the old fashioned (or at least bourgeois) French way. The filters are ideal for that. No mess, no fuss, no dependence upon a blithering machine … except the kettle. 😁

Great size. #4 for the win. Just rather expensive compared to my local grocery store....
Works great just seems expensive now that I looked locally. I'll use these up (all 200 of them) but would just source locally or less expensively going forward (hence the 1 less star). Doesn't knock on their overall performance, but for the price I had to remove 1 star.

Great - first review was bad, but we didn’t fold the bottom seam over so that’s why the bottom dropped out

It would appear that Indian size 4 = European size 1(which doesnt exist in europe). These filters are tiny. There must be a paper shortage in India. Or they are for expresso. Definitely smaller than they look in the pictures. Better than nothing.
