A handy gadget that works well!
I just had my racquet restrung with Synthetic Gut at 52# by a professional stringer. I used this gauge on the new stringbed and it indicated very close to 52#. if you insert it into a square of strings that are close together, it's easier to get an accurate read. After reading all the 1 star reviews, I don't understand how they all had so much trouble. This gauge is not a professional instrument nor is it represented as one. When I turned the dial, I suppose I could have believed the tension to be anything between 50-52# - I knew mine was at 52#. But that is still pretty good for a $20 gauge. This will be a great tool to monitor the tension and replace the strings when they get below 45#.

Good product so far
The only inconvenience was that after a few days, I had to glue back the string tension index label. I think that it is accurate.

the numeric value for tension is relative not absolute!
Great product if you understand how to use it. It is not calibrated for exact tension; it will however provide you with accurate comparative readings. So with new string read the tension at racquet string locations noted in the instruction set (10-15). That is your basis for trend logging.

No accurate and useless basically
I understand this tester can not measure the real tension of the string, but provides a number for users to know the relatively tension change. The issue is that I keep getting different numbers every time and everywhere on the string net.

a $25 tool not a $200 instrument
It has the utility of a $200 tension measuring instrument in that the measurement may not be accurate, but it will be consistent. It will return the same result ten, fifteen and twenty minutes from now. Its intended use is to help you decide when to replace your strings before they severely affect your game.It isn’t to check the accuracy of your stringing machine or your tennis shop stringer. That said, a week after I restrung my racquet to 55#, the Gamma STT measured 55#. An iPhone app said the tension was 36.3 lb. The racquet plays like 55#.

THIS IS A GARBAGE
The tennis store restrung my racket with 52lb for main and 54lb for cross per my requirement. But your string tester was showing 58lb to 60lb for main and 30lb to 40lb for cross when I picked the racket at store. Your Serve Tennis store use very expensive Willson brand string machine. Your string tester looks like garbage.

Excellent tool to monitor string tension
The string tension tester is essential in keeping an eye on tennis string tension. I measure the tension immediately after stringing and then once a week or so. Once the tension drops more than 8 pounds (in my case from 56 down to 48), it is time to get a new string. Please keep in mind that "your mileage" will vary. I play with a stiff polyester string and even though the string bed still feels stiff, string tension could be significantly lower. The tension tester eliminates guesswork from the whole process.

Good
Not really accurate, but I thinks that normal.

It met my expectations .
It was good enough for the price. It will be best to see the degradation if not the absolute value.

Gamma, Tester di Tensione della Corda Unisex, Multicolore, Taglia Unica
Ottimo strumento, facile da usare e preciso, ovviamente misura in Pounds.
