Works as advertised
Operation is intuitive. Device is well-finished, but be prepared for grease (but that's ok, grease is good, gloves are included). Lever control works easily under load, important to me as I used it to carefully lower and position a large, heavy, motor and impeller onto a vertical cyclone dust collector assembly, with no risk of dropping it unexpectedly. This chain hoist had the least top hook to chain hook distance when raised, of any that I looked at, as the available clearance above the hoisted motor assembly was minimal, hence this choice. A good value for my purpose, your's may vary. And now I can lift loads from my pickup bed....

Decent Build
I’m not certain what their design factor is but 1,650 lbs seems like a high rating. A common DF is 5:1 (or greater) and would put the MBS of this device at 8,250 lbs. That seems quite excessive but it should be good for a 500 lbs WLL. The build quality appears to be decent (without having dissected the product for in-depth inspection). The hooks seem legit and the chain is stamped with G80 (grade 80). Likely a decent product for the dough.

Safe use note needed. Quality great.
The product works fine but the following message should be printed on the face of the product: "Never set the dial to N or Down while under light load. Use the Up setting to raise and lower loads safely. Use N or Down only to adjust the chain prior to use.Under extreme loads, eg. 700+ lbs, it is possible switch from the up position to down without dropping the load.As presented, an unfamiliar user could move the setting to down while under modest load and get hurt. If you buy this product, please put this note on the handle.

very well designed and built.
As other reviews have said, this chain hoist is very well designed and very well built. I have no experience with other chain hoists, so I can't comment on it comparatively. The only flaw I've seen is that the instructions for it's use are poor and misleading. Don't bother with them. So far it's been very easy to use and does what it's supposed to do - lift and lower under control.

Poor designed notch
The media could not be loaded. The functionality of the chain hoist is solid. It a pain to lug around the thing because the weight and chain length, but that's to be expected because of the size.As for the notch/switch which is crucial for the whole thing to work properly. After only having the device for 26 days, which it would be more along 8 to 12 days of use because it isn't needed every day at work, because the material is weak the notches on the inside of the switch wore down so the switch doesn't change from up , neutral, and/or down easily. Or the design is made so the nob grabs the switch (nipple) by force alone. If you get this device immediately put gorilla or some only decent adhesive around the nob to adhere it to the nipple of the switch.
