Three Japanese Buddhist Monks (Penguin Great Ideas)

Great recluse literature collection
Very handsomely designed and printed small paperback. Embossed front cover is a nice touch and well executed. Nice to have all three works by these 12th century monks in one edition. Wish there was more introduction and discussion of these works. But each of these monks discussions seem remarkably fresh and apropos to today. Very good translations.

Wonderful writing and translation
The translation reads as if it was written by contemporary monks. The issues are still relevant. The wisdom is still profound.

Timeless and life-changing wisdom
This book has been a close companion of mine. It is like a warm friend, full of perspicacious insights into the nature of life, relationships, nature, and goodness. Much of it is proverbs and parables. Every time I sit with this book I come away an improved person.
