Does what it's supposed to do
A map is a pretty simple object. All maps are not created equal, however, and a serious hiker/climber needs a serious map. The Superwalker provides all the detail necessary, including references to magnetic/true north compass calibration, explanation of the "distinctive" British grid system, and help using the map in conjunction with a GPS. Most appreciated is the sturdy build of the map, which should hold up in nasty Scottish weather. My wife and I have a climb of Ben Nevis planned, and while it is not like climbing Everest, a turn in the weather could make a good map and compass essential and comforting. Money well spent.

Not a Ben Nevis Map, but a Ben Nevis Region Map
I was hoping for a map that focused on the trail up Ben Nevis. This is not that. It is map of a large area surrounding Ben Nevis, including Fort William. There is a very small inset of the trail up Ben Nevis that you can get off the Internet for free. This map offers no detail on the trail itself. I'm sure it is useful for the avid hiker who may explore the whole region.

Lightweight, durable, clear map
I have used OS maps for years. This one beats them in terms of being both lightweight and durable. The inset with the safe bearings off the top of Ben Nevis is an excellent feature. My only gripe is that the contour lines are not at 10m intervals.
