Ordered this to replace the vapour bars of my Ultar/Outback barbecue that had rusted away, not only did this fit better due its adjustable nature but the build quality is far superior to the genuine part, at half the price .

I had to use a rubber mallet to flatten the heat shield quite a bit as it was too rounded which meant the grills sat on top of the shield and wobbled. After a few bashes with the mallet, I got it to fit, although the black finish is now flacking off. It’ll do though, can’t see it not doing the job, I mean it’s just there to spread the heat.

Ordered this yesterday afternoon and it arrived this afternoon, bonus!The pieces were easy to assemble and are heavier than the originals with my Berkley (B&Q) grill. I would hope they last longer given the thickness.I was expecting 2 pieces to bolt together (so 6 in all) but the package contained 6 long pieces and 3 shorter ones. As I only needed a length of 42cm, a long and a short sufficed, so I still have 3 long sections left.Definitely solid and they will hopefully last well. Time will tell.

Well made, well delivered, and good value. The spacing of the ‘ledge’ in the barbecue on which the plates would rest prevented their fitting. Probably I could have made adjustments to the plates with a hacksaw but this would have made them unreturnable if not successful. I shall try to find a supplier where I can make a visual inspection.
