LOVED LOVED IT!!!
I Received a Free Copy of "More or Less a Marchioness" from a Giveaway Contest on Goodreads. But I would purchase this book. Its a tale of a young lady Miss Iris Somerset who is betroth to Phineas/Finn Knight Marquess of Huntington.Iris overhears an unfortunate argument between Finn and his Ex Mistress at a Garden Party. The argument is about her and how she is to young and naïve to satisfy someone of Finns dark sexual proclivities. She also learns that she was not Finns first choice as a bride but he wanted her friend Honora. But he lost the gaming wager and got her. So she jilts Finn but he doesn't quite understand why. He is determined to find out why and to not let her jilt him because he a real man, a gentlemen and this won't ruin him but ruin Iris and her sisters. This leads to a wonderful story of discovery between the two main characters. It also leads to love. One that comes by learning about each other and developing true feelings for one another. Instead of just a marriage contract. At times I wanted to hit Iris but I had to keep reminding myself that she is young. but she grew on me and I just Loved Loved Finn he was the perfect man.The story is well written, with a cast of lively secondary characters. I hope to read the next installment in Anna Bradley's The Somerset Sisters!!

Enjoyable with a few meh factors
3.5 stars rounded to 4. Mild spoilers ahead.Liked:- I liked both the H and h; there was a lot of great character development and personal growth and maturity that happened throughout the course of the book- Loved that the h discovered herself during the course of the book; and once she did, she stayed true to herself despite tough pressure- The secondary characters were pretty well developed and contributed massively to the storyline, for better or worse; special mention to Annabel and all wicked widows everywhere- The buildup of sexual tension is one of THE most important aspects of any romance novel for me, and there was loads of it here :)- Anna Bradley is def one of my favourite historical romance authors - the quality of her writing is excellentDidn’t like:- Felt like Finn and Wrexley were like two dogs squabbling over the same bone for like 70% of the book. Wasn’t totally sure whether he really wanted Iris or if he only wanted her because Wrexley had set his sights on her- I usually love reading about a H being out of his mind with jealousy, but here it felt more like he didn’t want the h to be with the OM than he actually wanted the h for himself- Wasn’t thrilled that the h kept keeping secrets from her sister. I understand wanting to figure things out on your own, but I think she dragged the secrecy for way too long. Made me question the closeness/level of trust between the two despite it being clear that the reader is to believe that the two are close.- A whole lot of fuss was made about the H's dark desires that came to absolute naught- I would've liked to see more of Lady Chase; she was a force that was mentioned throughout the book, but got merely 1/2 a page of actual "screen time"Overall, an enjoyable book that I finished in only a few hours. Just a few things that kept it from being a 5 star read.

Heart pounding romance
More or Less a Marchioness is Book 1 in Anna Bradley’s new Somerset Sisters series. This book starts off at a gallop and ends at a heart pounding run. I couldn’t put it down. I think Iris Somerset is one of my new favorite heroines. She is fun loving and kind with quite a dash of independence. I enjoyed the unfolding of the heroes character Phineas Knight the Marquess of Huntington. He is definitely a complex man with many layers that are delightful to discover as the story goes forward. This story does have a few sex scenes in it; however, the most romantic scene in the book had no sex in it at all. I can’t wait to read the next in the Somerset series - More or Less a Countess.

Inconsistent
I love regency romances! This is my first book by this author, and I have a mixed review. The premise was intriguing - spirited debutante breaks off her engagement to a Marquess, only to have him court her more seriously afterward. The heroine, Miss Iris Somerset, was inconsistent - pretty and charming but alternately independent or meek. The hero, Lord Phineas, Marquess of Huntington, aka Finn, was equally inconsistent - handsome and aristocratic but alternately stoic or melodramatic. They had little chemistry and no sizzle. The storyline was simple and predictable. Overall, not a bad book but never caught my fancy.

Nice regency romance about being yourself
The heroine has complied with her grandmother's wishes and pretends she is a sweet biddable young woman. The hero is a powerful Marques who grew up without love or family. He thinks he wants a proper miss. He hasn't even paid much attention to his fiancé until she jilts him. Then he pursues her. A fun and sexy story. Too bad about the narrator

My First but NOT My Last Anna Bradley Book!
How can a lady possibly take offense at her hand in marriage being wagered on and being the consolation prize? If you’re Iris Somerset, you take major offense. Especially when marquess does a remarkable job of making you feel like you’re the chosen one. At least until he won’t kiss you and you overhear him with his mistress talking about the bet.Phineas “Finn” Knight, Lord Huntington wants a quiet biddable wife; which is why Iris Somerset isn’t the one he’s chosen if he wins the bet at cards. Unfortunately (maybe) he loses and he sets out to make Iris his marchioness. Until, without any indication as to why, Iris calls off the betrothal. Intrigued, Finn sets out to win the lady’s hand. Will he be the winner after all?A charming story by Anna Bradley, my first by Ms. Bradley. I loved Iris’ spunk and Finn’s determination. Add in the behind the scene string pulling of a certain “wicked widow” and you have a fun story. Now I want to see which of the Somerset sisters gets into mischief next! This is a definite must read and Anna Bradley is on my auto-buy author list.

Not bad
Maybe sometimes it’s a little bit boring and I sometimes felt there was something missing, like more action. Anyway, it’s entertaining and the couple is very cute.

Enchanting...
Finn, a very proper Marquess, stifled by his need for control of his emotions... falls in mad passionate love with a quiet unremarkable Iris. Ah, but neither is truly who they present as. Add in a revengeful rake of an Earl, a boring country house party, a meddling friend, and an incredible horse named Chaos. I had to keep reading to find out how these two could or would overcome their restraints and finally reach their well-earned happy ever after! Highly recommended. Now of course I need to read the rest of the stories of the Somerset Sisters!
