If you have a pool heater and getting the proper water flow to meet the optimal heating out of your unit, I highly recommend you spend a few extra dollars and get this. Before I installed it I was just guessing if I was in the right range. With it, unbelievable how much better my pool heater is working. 65⁰ outside and 85⁰ in the pool.

Easy to install and works great. Easy to read and the directions made it really easy to know where to put it. This is a must for your pool if you are maintaining it yourself, especially if you have a variable speed pump. Just get it.

I purchased the Blue-White FlowRead flow meter so that I could calculate the turnover rate in hours for my swimming pool. The flow meter conformed to its advertised description and it was delivered to my door within a few days. I was able to install the flow meter within 15 minutes. I spent more time driving to the box store to get a 5/8 in. drill bit, 5/16 in. nut driver and sand paper. Your attention is directed to my photos of the installed flow meter and the air bubble at the top of the gauge. Following the advice of a previous purchaser of this product, I took a 7/16 in. open end wrench and loosened the blue stopper at the top of the gauge and "burped" the air out. Thereafter, I didn't notice any measurable difference in the gauge reading. The FlowRead flow meter is a good product and I recommend it to others who are interested in a flow meter for a residential swimming pool.

It was fairly easy to install. The biggest issue was finding a drill bit large enough for drilling the hole. Once that was done installing the meter is just a matter of tightening the hose claps. They have to be equally tighten or it will leak. Just a droll and set the clutch to a low setting. Using an impact may cause overtighting and cracking of the pipe. I had to install on the inlet pipe to get the required distances. Not ideal but it shouldn't make a difference.
