How much ansi lumen? Is it bright enough day time use?

Yes it is! Set it to dynamic mode and it will be enough for day use. The video shows side by side comparison between Epson EF13 (right) and Xgimi Elfin (left). The Epson has 1000 lumens compared to 800 on the Xgimi. The Epson feels a lot brighter. Even using the cinema mode which reduces brightness, it is brighter than the Xgimi.

Hello.. A basic question.. Does this need bulb replacement etc? Whats the life of this device in terms of view hoirs

The intention is to never have to replace a bulb (laser, actually). In fact, I can not even find a replacement laser for sale. The projected laser life of this projector, according to some third party sites, is 20,000 hours. That is equivalent to 6.8 years of keeping the projector on for 8 hours per day. Similar projectors tout a 30,000 laser life, but we will have to see if the predictions play out. Personally, I have had three different LED projectors die on me well short of their 50,000 hour life.

Can the brightness level be customized? Can it be very dim, for bedtime viewing, and if so, is the image quality still acceptable?

You can decrease the light output (abt 50%) and then reduce the brightnes.. But it wont be that dim imo.

Is there any way to get Dolby 7.2 surround sound with the Epson mini projector?

Not directly but with an external HDMI audio splitter or receiver, sure.
