The Best Yoga Mat
This is the best yoga mat I've ever used. The firmness of this mat aids in balancing postures, no strain on your feet trying to hold on to a mat that is far too squishy. The grip is second to none. You will not slip on this mat no matter how sweaty your workout. Even my worn out Yogitoes towel stayed put. Definitely worth the price.

Sticky (and stinky) right out of the package
This is one of two high-quality yoga mats that people seem to recommend both here and on other sites. I initially purchased the other one after learning that it was very durable and guaranteed for life, but found it to be quite slippery. That has not been a problem with the Jade Harmony Professional yoga mat.The surface of this mat almost reminds me of a cat's tongue. It feels somewhat rough, especially if you drag a bare elbow or knee across it, but it has excellent grip right from the start. The grip can make sliding transitions from one pose to another more difficult to execute smoothly, but I really do not mind this because of the confidence that I have in Downward Dog, where I feel rock solid with no slipping. I'm six feet tall, and opted for the 74-inch version which gives me plenty of room from head to toe when lying on the mat. I also love the midnight blue color. The rough surface is also more difficult to clean, which you'll need to do more frequently because of its stickiness. The natural rubber also does a fine job of holding a static charge, which makes it prone to attracting whatever is loose on the floor. The mat has a very strong rubber smell, which I'm told goes away over time. It's also not good to leave the mat in direct sunlight, because that can cause the natural rubber to break down. This mat does not come with a lifetime guarantee like the other mat that I purchased, so if I stick with it I will need to plan on buying a new one after a year or two. This mat strikes a good balance between thickness, weight, and portability. It seems like it will be a good mat for use both at home, and when I head to a class. While definitely not as cushy as the other mat that I tried, I'm perfectly happy with it so far. It's definitely a big improvement over the yoga mats that you'll find at a typical big-box store.I may keep the other mat that I bought to give it more time to break in, but based on my initial reaction I can already tell that this one will probably be my favorite. I also think it's great that the manufacturer plants a tree for every mat they sell. We need more of those :)

Grippy Delight, Easily Dusty
The smell did indeed suck for the first week. Leaving it out in the shade for a couple days helped a lot. Been using it almost daily and in class for a couple months now. The grip is so worth it, especially for the tight hamstring crowd. It does hang onto hairs and dust and fluff more than I expected, but cleaning it really isn’t that hard. I can get it looking clean again in less than a minute or two with a damp microfiber.I got the dark green, but If I could go back I’d probably buy a lighter color due to how easily it hangs onto skin dust and other gunk—just so it isn’t so obviously visible between cleanings. Especially if ur someone who hates to clean, think the color through for sure.

Very Good Eco-Sensitive Yoga Mat
I bought this mat because 1)my old, plastic-based mat was falling apart and crumbling, 2)his one came with the highest rating from the New York Times' Wirecutter, and 3)It's eco-sensitive since it's made of real rubber. As mentioned in the Wirecutter review, it has a strong rubber smell when you first take it out of the packaging. But if you leave it out for a while, that smell disappears. It gives me excellent grip--better than my old mats when I'm doing Downward Dog. It's not as plush, so I solve that by putting a folded-over blanket under the mat. It rolls up nice and tight, so it doesn't take a lot of space in the closet. If you're looking for a non-plastic, better-for-the-Earth mat, this one is great.

Great, and heavy
This is a great mat with good stick. It smells like rubber, but it IS rubber so... It is also very heavy., and because it is so heavy, I will need to re-think how to carry around my yoga kit. But based on how nice this mat it, I expect to have it for many, many years.

Great for sweat!
Amazing mat for high intensity, sweaty Ashtanga/Vinyasa practice. Super grippy and amazing texture. I’ve slipped on every other mat, I have owned. I have 0 complaints with this mat.

Reeks like the inside of a tire
After being left on the back porch for 3 weeks, it still reeked like the inside of a tire. I wanted to like it so much. It was cheaper, thicker, grippier, and longer than the usual large mats from Lulu Lemon. But the odor was NOT subtle, NOT faint. It truly stank like rubber like you stuck your head inside a new tire off teh shelf. I figured a few days left outside would let it air out. And then a week. And then two weeks. And then three weeks, and it still was terrible. I returned it, dejected, disappointed, and bought The (Big) Mat 5mm from Lulu Lemon and have been satisfied with that instead.

True grip in all poses
I was a bit hesitant to spend $90 on a yoga mat, but after trying $30 and $40 ones and slipping worse than I ever did on my $8 Marshall's mat, I finally decided to invest in a higher quality mat.Pros:- true grip - both the mat itself to the floor and feet / hands. I don't get super sweaty but there is a noticeable difference from every other mat I tried, especially in down dog and warrior 2.- quite heavy so feels secure- love that it is made from natural rubber and Eco friendly- my cat doesn't seem to have an urge to scratch it like she did with the other ones! Perhaps because of the smell?...Cons:- it took about a month for the rubber smell to be less noticeable. I'm 1.5 months in and there is definitely still a bit of a smell.- darker mat shows dust and looks dirty, but honestly I take it as an incentive to clean it more often, which I didn't use to do with the colorful ones!- the top of it still rolls the other way after 1.5 months, and after leaving it flat to air out for the first week. All in all - a great mat, and feels like an investment for the years of yoga to come!
