Jonathan PuddleYou Are Enough: Learning to Love Yourself the Way God Loves You

You are not defined by your past, you are to enjoy the present, you are enough!
I love this devotional, very easy to read and has something encouraging for everyone each day. One of the verses in the Bible I have dwelt on for almost a year was to "love your neighbor as yourself". When Jesus asked what is the most important commandments he said to love God with all your heart, soul, mind, body, and strength...basically with everything you are, but he also said to love your neighbor as yourself. That last one is actually 2 commandments in a way, because if you do not love yourself, or cannot love yourself, you cannot effectively love others. We get to that point in a variety of ways. Shame is the leading cause, and that same can come from abuse as a child, failed jobs or relationships, addiction, crime, etc. But you are NOT those things, you are a wonderful creation designed for a specific purpose. Other than shame I think we all measure ourselves against others. He's better at sports than me, she's prettier, my body is gross compared to him/her, etc.Jonathan does an extraordinary job of breaking through those chains that bind people into feeling unloved. One way I have paraphrased that recently is to love your neighbor as you are loved. We are God's BELOVED, so much of scripture rests on that very truth! But if we do not see ourselves as beautiful and loved, there is a problem. This book will help many people experience freedom from that bondage, it's unnatural can can be deadly.I am REALLY excited about this book for another reason as well. I have a couple groups I meet with in prison to read books and talk about them, as well as life, faith, etc. I cannot wait to get back into those prisons to talk to the men again, to see their faces, and to teach them that they too are enough!

Saved my life.
This book is a must have for anyone who needs a new revelation of God's love towards us and how we can do the same for ourselves. I love how Jonathn was able to expertly integrate spirituality with practical psychology. Whose to say psychology is bad for Christians. If used well, it can save many. I did all 30 devos faithfully and it has calmed me down and helped me process my anxieties significantly. I feel alot more at peace with self and am even more aware of how much God loves me. Too often what we learnt in church institutionalise God and His person. It has kept me boxed up, fearful and unable to live the abundant life God died on the cross for me to have. This book will help unlock/unblock, and change your minds, hearts and perspectives of what it means to be a truely human the way God created humanity to be. Im going back into the book a 2nd time now.

Not Your Typical Christian Devotional
Growing up in a very legalistic, fundamentalist Christian home, I’ve found it hard to connect with most “Christian” devotionals on the market. This one is different. This is not just a devotional, it’s an experience. Like a good friend taking your hand and leading you into something beautiful. Like finding God and reconnecting with parts if your own heart you hadn’t spoken to in far too long. It’s healing. It’s gentle. It’s full of heart and soul. It will surprise you, it will change you. It brings together elements of modern research in psychology and meditation while staying centered in faith in a fresh way. I’d highly recommend this book. I cried my way through every single day. To any that will open their heart and receive it, this is a gift that will stay with you for a very long time time.

Jonathan Puddle takes us deep into the heart of God.
This beautifully written and powerful book took me on a journey into the high, wide, long and deep love of God. Daily meditations and practices gently and intentionally opened the way to healing the wounds that have disconnected me from this love. As I read and engaged with each daily principle, I encountered the truth--that I am enough.

Nice, gentle easy meditations. That you can take your time over. That help you feel love and self acceptance. No condemnation or fancy words. For those who have had enough of self help books, that don’t get read or make one feel worse! Recommended.

Everyone should read it
This book was everything I was looking for and more. If you have ever struggled to find Jesus when you pray, if you have ever wished you could see yourself the way God sees you and loves you, or if you just need a kickstart to getting in the habit of doing a personal devotion, then you NEED to read this book. Jonathan Puddle has an incredibly relatable writing style & speaks with great empathy.

Pleasently Surprised on How This Works So Well
I love what Jonathan has done here. Each day is only a few pages but it makes you want to read forward. The combination of thoughts, scripture, neuroscience, inner healing and somatic exercises is not something I've seen people execute well. But this book does! Invest in your own healing and spiritual longings with God and get this book (and an extra for a friend) . I hope he writes another!BTW - arrived to QLD, Australia in under a week👍

You are enough - for real
A huge shout out to the author for this book. It came at a time when I needed it the most. I especially love the love I have learned to be in my own body and to appreciate my hair (black hair is a whole thing). It takes a long time to feel comfortable in your skin and in your thoughts and frankly, it takes forever to realise God has loved you as you have been all this time. I am blessed!
