Had doubts at first but they work like a champ
Purchased these for a weekend family ski trip. We have a fwd suv and our air b&b was on the blue side of the mountain and there was recent snow and ice. First time we tried to leave the houses drive way we made it about 20 yards before loosing traction and not being able to make it up the hill. I backed down slowly to the house and threw these bad boys on.Installation was very simple and straight forward. The gloves aren't the best and tore quickly but they were better than nothing. The hardware that comes with the set (the wrench and orange thing to help you get the straps from the backside of the tire) were both average for the price point.Putting on all 6 for the front wheels (3 on each) took about 10 minutes altogether.Once everything was strapped and ready to roll we pulled back out and I could instantly tell the difference in grip, it was quite noticable how the steel teeth where gripping into the ice. We made it up the initial hill and up much steeper ones. The trip from the house to the first road that had been cleared for driving was about 2 miles of icy hills and switch back curves. During this time I experienced no traction issues or slippage.Once I made it to the cleared roads I pulled off into a parking lot and took them off (didn't want to wear down the teeth if not necessary).Removal wasn't too shabby. I recommend having something else when removing. I used the wrench to disengage the locking mechanism and used a small flat head screwdriver to disengage the locking bar while pulling with that hand to let the strap unravel.Total removal time was around 3-5 minutes. We used them about a total of 5 times while on the trip and not once has any traction issues. The only issues with this product were the nylon stamps did start to fray as you can see in the pictures. This was fixed quickly by running a lighter over the end of the strap where the fraying was.Next I somehow lost a cotter pin during one of the drives.Lastly the case they come in is not a very tough case. For the price point that is expected but still. The zipper came off on the second time using the bag. I would recommend throwing this kit in a old back pack or something of that sort.Overall they worked better than I expected, had zero traction issues with them installed, and was driving on steep mountain roads with a mixture of snow and ice.

One hit wonder
The Good: These saved my butt during a freak random snow storm after freezing rain all morning. They are pretty simple to put on....it is recommended no fast than 25 30mph I believe...but I dodnt slide....I felt very in control. The bad: Taking them off is another story. Trying to do it the way it says....the bars have bent...that fasten them to the tire. Making them now useless. So maybe use a stronger metal there. Also after using them. Adjusting them to the recommended tightness, and staying at 25 to my home....my tire both needed air more frequently. I am having them looked at, I'm worried about a puncture....

Effective, but tricky to remove
They do the job and are easy to apply. They are not easy to remove, especially with the cheap, malleable tiny wrench they give you. I may possibly have wrenched them on too tight because getting them off was a struggle, requiring quite a bit of elbow grease and an actual wrench I luckily had in the car.

Great concept, lacking in quality
While the concept of installing these is quite simple, in application they are not quite as easy. Removing them is tricky as well. My biggest issue with these is even though I tightened then down as tight at I could they manage to bunch up which risks damaging your brake system. I have used these twice this winter and had the same problem. Also the last time I used them the straps and ratchet ripped off on one of them. If you can and your car will support then use traditional chains!

Good product for less price and will not harm tires or alloys
Bought this product as it was plastic and straps so minimal risk to harm alloys, I have a leased car that does not allow snow chain.Installing was almost 30 min straight on 2 wheels, hassle I would say but may it is was my first time so may not have been efficient.Works well good grip

Watch what vehicle you are buying these for. Says they fit a 275 tire, but not on mine...
These looked pretty good, looked like they would do the job of getting you unstuck in a pinch, but they wouldn't fit my 275 width tires, the straps were too short. The listing says they fit up to a 275 width tire, but they wouldn't fit the 275 tires on my pickup. Probably would work on some car with low profile 275 tires.

Did twork
Product was not easy to install and was harder to take off because the class Buckle system bent. The chains shifted on the tires no matter how tight I got the strap.

If you read the instructions and still don’t know how to install check you tube
For what it was worth it did work in the snow not on normal highway roads mind you I have a rear wheel drive car and live in jersey just get in mind that you probably have to buy two pairs just in case something happens I got one they did the job but they only last one drive as the metal tight clip tend to bend to easy when I I try to take them off the tires and mess up the product to the point that it cannot be used a second time.
