So far (3 weeks) this temp sensor has been a delight. It was super easy to set up. The app download went fast. Be aware that this sensor requires 2.4GHz WiFi (does not support 5G). The app found my sensor and linked up quickly. It has been logging my fridge temp for the last 3 days. The apps is easy to use and makes sense. Update: It has been a couple of weeks now and this unit is performing flawlessly. I really like the app and the reports it provides. I especially like the time/temp graphs.

I have been using these Govee H5179 remote temperature / humidity sensors for a long time and am very pleased with their performance. My house has a detached garage where I have a refrigerator and I have one of these in the freezer compartment and another in the fridge compartment. They connect to the app via wi-fi so I can check them any time I want and be sure that the fridge is working properly. The 3-AA batteries in each sensor last for several months at a time. I've got another of these in a small greenhouse with a heater I use in winter and I can make sure that the temperature in there stays above freezing. As long as the batteries are good - and as I say, they last several months at a time - the sensors are reliable and keep my app updated. The app lets me see temperatures over the past hour, day, week, or longer which is helpful. Each sensor can be fine-tuned via the app to agree with your other thermometers, if you want to do that. I've stayed with these Govee units for 3 or 4 years now and like them.

Only had my Govee WiFi thermometer H5179 for a few days. The initial set up and linking to my WiFi network took many frustrating attempts before being successful. I was almost ready to return it, but with seemingly no explanation, it finally made a connection . Since then, it seems to be working ok, and temperature readings are similar to other thermometers I am using in the same room for comparison. Further, I am able to access it from remote locations, which is the primary reason I purchased it .

Easy to use, and inexpensive. I have several Airbnbs and these have come in handy multiple times. When I need to check the temperature of one of the houses I can easily check with the app. It also can alert you when the temp drops to a certain temp that you set it to. It has saved our house from freezing up when people weren’t staying there. They are also very small, and can easily hide them anywhere in your home. Highly recommend!

Easy to set up the app. I set it up so that I get notifications when my temperature is over a certain limit. I live in a humid country where I need to monitor my home’s humidity when I’m away for a while (I turn on the AC remotely) to avoid mold. Quite happy with this device.
