You will spill oil with out this piece.
Seems simple, funnel in hole, pour in the oil. Problem is, the hole sits flush on a valve cover canted about 35 degrees outboard into a shallow hole with no place to rest the funnel.This bit of kit installs in place of the oil fill cap. It corrects the oil fill hole to vertical then the OEM oil fill hole cap screws in to the top of this "elbow".Another great idea is the funnel that screws into this elbow. all you do is tip the oil container into the funnel, then go do something else for a few minutes. great time and mess saver. highly recommended.Go have a look at your pal's 5.0 Mustang. It comes from the factory with a piece just like this one already installed. 60K for a truck and Ford skimps on something like this. Don't ask me why..

Perfect for oil changes
It was difficult to get a funnel into my S550 mustang valve cover, but this turns it horizontal so it's much easier to fill.

Fits my 2014 F-150 5.0 V8 !!!!!
I just received this Dorman 917-415 oil filler extension and can confirm this fits my 12 generation 2014 Ford F-150 5.0 V8 engine bay perfectly.j Existing cap fits perfectly. No worries. I saw another customer review on another site say this and took a chance. Just wish Dorman would update their Amazon info. This is a pretty stupid thing but works wonders if you change your own oil.

Fits coyote F150 engine
Installed this on my 2012 F150 5.0. definitely less of a headache to pour oil in it. i'd also recommend getting a screw in funnel for ultimate ease of oil change.
