I used this product to make keychains with my daughter’s handprints on them. They turned out Amazing!

Had so much fun making these keychains , for more vibrant color definitely use the white sheets, the transparent ones are a little dark, and make sure you let the ink dry really good before touching the ink will smudge

We used Shrinky Dinks to make Girl Scout swaps. A full sized sheet (8” x 10”?) shrinks to about 3” x 4”). It works well for smaller works. We also tried coloring and baking an entire sheet. If you make a larger piece of work, it could curl up. We had to rebake the work several times and then meticulously uncurl it. We did the best we could, but there was still a few ripples in the final product. Lesson learned, Shrinky Dinks can be fun, but if you want a larger finished piece, have extra sheets on hand in case you have baking issues.

I use shrink plastic to create jewelry, keychains, and charms. These transparent shrinky dink sheets come out very clear, they shrink at a pretty uniform rate (don’t expect perfectly straight lines, but they come closer than the other brands I’ve tried), and they end up being a sturdy 1/16” thick.My main issue, and why they don’t get a full 5 stars is that the sheets are not a full 8”x10”, they are about 7 ⅞” x 9 ⅞”. I know this may seem like a petty issue, but I would like to be able to get 4 keychains (which are 4” circles) and 4 charms (which are 2” circles) from a single sheet. Obviously I can make them slightly smaller, but the 8”x10” sheets were already pushing my ability to fit those items (I prefer 8 ½”x11”, a standard letter size in the US). I will need to resize all the imagery I use to fit them onto this smaller size.I’ve included some photos of the test swatch that I make for each material. It’s a little ruler with various colors and cut outs. This was the full width of the sheet (7 ⅞”) by 3” wide and it shrunk down to 3 5/16”x 1 ¼”. It did shrink very consistently. The length, 6” > 2 ½”, the width, 3” > 1 ¼”. For this reason I will be keeping the sheets and using them.Something that crafters should be aware of (and this is NOT a brand issue and doesn’t affect my rating at all) transparent sheets will show every tiny scratch or scuff that happens while you are handling them, so take extra care when you are handling them.

These are so fun and you can make so many different things. It’s fun to make things of our favorite characters but this time we used them as a class art project where kids could write a message to their mom and their mom would always have their precious child’s handwriting on a keychain.They were easy for kids to create and easy for me to bake. The instructions worked perfectly and they made durable keychains.
