I have been doing diamond paintings and my daughter has been wanting "help" but when I had her try a few, it ended in a big mess. With this setup, it was perfect for her to do her own diamond paintings. There are different sizes of the diamonds which helps give depth and definition to her pictures. Not only was this appropriate for my 5 year old but the whole set up was very similar to mine which made it look like she was doing a painting just like me. The tray that this comes with helps hold the rhinestones and I was able to teach her how to use the pink wax to get her rhinestones to stick. The adhesive on these pictures is really sticky so I did have to teach her how to not touch the picture itself. The packages the diamonds come with are color coordinated to go with the pictures so showing I did have to explain that to her. Overall, she loves doing her own diamond painting and have already placed an order for more for her. I should also mention that after doing a page, I laid an old towel and used a roller like I do with mine and once these rhinestones are on there, you can't get them off unless you use something.

I have a five year old granddaughter who LOVES art.After seeing my art dot collection she begged to try some.I researched and came up on two kits this one as well as a bunny sticker kit.I was a little apprehensive at first. I wasn’t sure how difficult it would be but, I just had to show her once and the rest is history. lolShe’s so excited she’s truly enjoying working on these stickers and keychains.Most of the dots are big there are some little ones that I would suggest a parent sits by and watches. I do suggest (if you don’t want to be picking up tons of dots from the floor) buying a case where you can put the dots and label them.I have posted a picture of the one we use. Honestly the bags provided do not hold the dots well nor are there enough bags.

I purchased a similar craft at Christmas for my granddaughters, ages 8 and 6. It was much larger, had a frame and even though they had fun, it was very tedious and time consuming. This mermaid craft is much smaller and the girls had a blast. They were able to easily complete a mermaid quickly and had a feeling of accomplishment. They loved the additional sticker page that came in an envelope for mailing. They decorated those too and plan on sending them to friends back home. The completed mermaid stickers are going home with them at the end of summer to decorate notebooks, pencil boxes, etc. Love this craft and highly recommend.

I bought this for my 5 and 6 year old's after they saw my wife doing a gem art. with a little instruction they were able to do this on their own easily. It came with 6 mermaids and several sea creatures to put gems on. They each did 2 mermaids and it took between 45-50 minuets. They were engaged and quiet. They loved doing the gems and peeling it off to stick it on drawing they completed earlier in the day! This would be a great gift too!

This is great for maybe 9 to 13 but a 3 to 5 year old could not do this craft. These are super tiny pieces to begin with and a child that age has no business messing them as they are a safety hazard for them. I got it for my granddaughter but gave it to my daugther instead. It takes time and patience and skill. its not for everyone. You also need a steady hand.

She is really into these diamond paintings as of late! The pieces are bigger and easier for her but they're also translucent and have colors do they definitely pop in terms of light and color unit the adult version!And love that you can peel off the finished art and stick them in a window as a cling 😃

Purchased for my niece 4th birthday gift. She likes all things that “bling-bling” so she really enjoyed making the mermaind diamond painting & stickers.They're super cute.Each gems is “sparkle” and relatively large. It is easy to ues for kids. Attach a picture~Nice gift, fun Craft kit.

Instructions could be better. You poke the pen into the orange gel square and that sticks to the top of the jewels and the stick to the sticky stickers. You must first peel the paper covering the sticker before you start putting the jewels. My 4 year old grand daughter loved it. We did it together so she wouldn’t get bored and them we peeled the mermaid stickers and put them in her alphabet notebook. Beautiful.
