High Quality, Low Price
After seeing my institution's ridiculous pricing on doctoral regalia I decided to look to on Amazon to make my own pull-together regalia outfit. For about the third of the price, I had composed my own set of robes, hood, and tam for less than 1/3 of the price of the "premium" regalia offered by my university's bookstore.This hood arrived in much better condition than I expected considering the price. The velvet looks and feels expensive and the satin (the black part) isn't too shiny. After a quick steam, all of the wrinkles for shipping released and it hung nicely.I would highly recommend this hood for the graduating PhD or faculty member who needs "premium" quality regalia for a fraction of the typical cost.

Looks better than advertised
Looks better than advertised. Arrived promptly. Using it with the Graduation Mall Unisex Doctoral grad robe, and the color/fabric matches perfectly. Just that the rear closure is on the outer edge instead of the inner seam, to show the liner; but easy enough to make a new closure in the proper location.

The hood is of excellent quality.
The satin and velvet are soft and rich, and the black polyester material of the hood is a deep black color. Nothing looks cheap about it and the hood has a nice weight and drape. This was a very good deal and it also arrived very quickly.

Quality feel is obvious!
Wow! Thick smooth velvet, excellent heavy material and satin. Much better quality than the hood I was given at graduation. And much better than it looks in the photo. Very pleased. Ordering another for my wife. Arrived on second day, ahead of schedule!
