Imagine my surprise when Silence was actually the best in Becca Fitzpatrick's series! Nora has been kidnapped. When she wakes up in a graveyard, she doesn't realize how long she has been gone or what has happened to her. She was kidnapped in June, but she has lost everything that happened from April to September when she was found. When she returns home, she finds her mother is now dating Hank Millar- Nora's archenemy Marcie's father. She also gets the feeling people are keeping things from her. Her mother and best friend aren't telling her the entire truth about her life before the kidnapping, but she doesn't know who to trust until Scott Parnell returns. The Nephilim fills her in on the fallen angels and the war with the Nephilim whom the angels possess two weeks out of every year. Nora knows she is somehow involved in the situation, but she isn't sure how. She also know the stranger Jev is someone she has met in the past, but she can't place him. As she and Scott uncover more and more about Hank Millar, Jev keeps pulling her out of sticky situations. She feels drawn to him, even though she suspects he may be dangerous and is definitely on the opposite side of her friend, Scott. When Jev pulls her from a warehouse where hundreds of Nephilim soldiers are sleeping and would kill her for trespassing, he takes her to his home in the tunnels and reveals who he truly is to Nora- he is really Patch, the one man/angel Nora has loved. Now they must find out what Hank Millar is doing and save Nora's family in the meantime. Hank Millar may have nothing to lose, but Nora has everything in the world to lose now that she has fallen in love with Patch all over again. This was undoubtedly the best story in the series. Many people complain Nora is as whiny and spineless as Bella in Twilight, so it was nice to see her in a whole new light. She is more assertive in this book and gets herself into a lot of trouble because she won't just move on after the kidnapping and forget everything that happened to her. She is determined to get to the bottom of it all. I also, after the last ridiculous book, needed to see her and Patch really fall in love. Her amnesia really made that possible. She was drawn to him, couldn't resist him, and that was the Nora and Patch I originally loved and wanted to see more of! Finally, Fitzpatrick solved her biggest problem from both original books in the series- she didn't give you 90% filler and 10% action at the very end. The last two books I hated until the very end and then I was left liking the book but still feeling duped or cheated. This book was interesting the whole way through. From start to finish, it was interesting and there was a lot going on. I am surprised how it ended, but now I am actually looking forward to the next installment instead of feeling obligated to read the silly thing! I am glad to see this book redeemed the series, but I still probably wouldn't give this series to a struggling reader. It isn't exciting enough to hold their attention and help them be successful in finishing a whole book. I would leave this for adults (just for sheer boredom's sake- not content) or stronger readers who could make it through the whole thing without giving up because clearly Fitzpatrick saved the best for last! Review: Guitly Pleasure but not a Epic Novel - Silence was like all of the books in this series, so good you can't put it down but so bad you can't help but notice the discrepancies. However, I rate a book on how hard it is to put down not by the little flaws that annoy me....and this book was impossible to put down! Tiny Semi Spoiler Alert...... The Black Hand has Patch and Nora cornered with his army and Patch has to make a deal with him to prevent The Black hand from killing Nora. Patch vows to act as a spy for The Black Hand and tell him the archangels secret business. In exchange Patch makes The Black Hand vow to leave Nora alone and release her. The Black Hand refuses to release Nora until he gets what he wants from Patch so he holds her hostage. Patch finds himself so disturbed by Nora being held hostage he eventually lets The Black Hand rip out his own wings for her release!! Patch has come to terms with his love for Nora and now knows his life means nothing without her in it. When The Black Hand (aka Hank/ or Nora's dad) decides to release Nora he lets Patch know he is going to erase her memory of the kidnapping. Patch lets The Black Hand know that he wants him to also erase Nora's memories of himself as well. Patch figures if Nora cant remember him & The Black Hand has sworn an oath to stay away from her, Nora now has a chance at a real life. Little does Patch know that The Black Hand will renig on his word about leaving Nora alone. Nora finds herself pretty miserable when she wakes from her ordeal in the local cemetery and can't remember the last 5 months of her life. Nora spends most of the first half of the book trying to piece her life back together. Vee the useless and annoying friend that she is tells Nora nothing about Patch and neither does her mother. Noras mother starts dating Hank (Marcie Millers dad) and Nora knows something is off about him but can't remember what. It's not until Scott Parnell runs into Nora that Nora starts getting clued in about her old life. Scotts been in hiding since Nora told him he was a Nephlim and The Black Hand was bad news. Poor Scotts been living in a cave down by the beach all alone. He is a bright star in this book and I almost liked him as much as Patch. Scott shows his allegence to Nora many times but I'm still not convinced he is 100% reformed. The last half of the book is Nora & Patch working together to try to bring down The Black Hand and stop his army. (It was also alot of smootching going on between Patch & Nora and FINALLY a real love connection). Without giving away too much, this book was the best yet in the series because you get a large dose of Patch. We finally get to see behind the bad boy façade and see his real motives. This book ended with an unexpected twist & BANG! I'm not going to tell you what happened but I will say that I am pretty sure there is another book in the works and I will be first to pre-order it! This is no epic novel, there are many flaws in the writing and Nora is as annoying & reckless as usual, BUT its such an exciting read...really who cares about the rest!? Anyone who likes these books may want to try : When Angels Fall Stephanie Jackson (Author), Tate Jackson (Author)

This book is amazingly written and really makes you feel like you're actually there. I loved Hush Hush, Crescendo and I also love Silence. It's actually my favourite series and I love how Becca has a steamy, romantic and mysterious way of writing. Now I just can't wait to read Finale. Yay! So excited and I strongly recommend this series to everyone!💙 PS I love Becca Fitzpatrick and her talented writing skills.
