THIS REVIEW IS ONLY ABOUT THE BRUSHES
These brushes are very handy when I wish to give something a very, very light coating of oil. I usually use them several times between washing them - I just retract the "bristles (soft cotton fibers) as far as possible and keep one brush per zipper snack sized bag in the door of my refrigerator. I use one for vegetable oil and one for EV pure olive oil.

Very useful kitchen tool!
These don't last forever (they need to be replaced after maybe... 6 months?) but, for me, they are a very useful tool! I use them for oiling muffin tins, omelet pans, everything! Also good if you don't want to use too much oil. You can wash them one or two times and air-dry. But when bits of string start to come off, it's time to go.

I use this more than I had expected
I purchased this brush primarily for making takoyaki, but I find myself keeping it by the stove so I can use it almost daily. It's a convenient way to lightly oil pans for frying up eggs or other foods that don't need a lot of oil/fat. I've also used it to grease pans prior to baking crumb cakes, cupcakes and muffins. It doesn't feel very durable, but it's held up to nearly daily use for almost two months now.

Could be made better?
The brush part is really thinner than I expected. I am used to use Japanese fluffy, thicker one, so it was a disappointing a bit... We used it once, but not sure if we will keep using it while we can use paper napkins and soak oil to do better job.

good butter baster
This takoyaki oil brush really soaks up liquid for basting, so I can butter-baste a pan of biscuits in no time. I bought two-one for butter and one for oil or bbq because I hot rinse, wipe, and freeze in a ziplock to avoid it falling apart by washing as reviewers say. It's way better for basting than the plastic basters. I can lightly oil a pan without mess. Satisfied.

Great for cooking and not just for Takoyaki!
I use this item daily/whenever I use oil to cook. Instead of using a spatula to spread oil in the pan, I use this to evenly spread the oil in the pan. This said, I can control the amount of oil I use. I highly recommend this product!

Nice oil brushes.
Just what I had been looking for. These mop-style brushes are perfect for applying a thin coat of oil to your skillet or pan. Well made and durable.

99cents quality but it DOES the job...Do not wash it!!!
It’s something you find in the 100 Yen shop (Dollar store), so the quality is 99cents. But the very good one I had which I bought in Japan (cost me $10) worn out and I really needed something similar. I had to pay 5 times more for smaller, a bit flimsy brush but it does the job. Cheaper than traveling to Japan. I love the cotton threads because it really spreads oils evenly by absorbing the excess oil. I use this for my waffle maker a lot. I do not like the silicon ones because of the plastic smell and they do not spread evenly. I believe you are not supposed to wash this...just replace it to a new one when it gets old.

A little too small
Not so easy to twist or apply. Maybe easier using kitchen towel
