Ticked all the boxes
I was looking at a lot of cabin cases before I finally settled on the Kipling Spontaneous. I’m happy with my choice as it ticked all the boxes I was looking for-size, 4 wheel spinner, lightweight, tsa lock.

Full featured carry-on luggage
Airports and airlines are becoming steadily more restrictive about what you can carry on—at one time it was a carry on suitcase like this one, and a handbag or briefcase, and a camera. My most recent long-haul flights we've been restricted to a single bag. As a result, that bag has got to work harder. And this one does. This is probably the most fully-featured carry-on case I've seen. Coming in at 53x33x21, it will not be allowed on the most bargain airlines, but it is suitable for most international airlines. It comes with 'TSA' locks. I have never seen these before, but they are combination locks which security personnnel can open with a special key. This may be a feature which is going to be used more widely in the future, although I wasn't aware of it. The locks are good, though, of course, any determined thief can cut through the fabric with a knife. It has four wheels, which roll freely, and a pull out handle, as you would expect. There are two compartments, both of which have dividers so that you can separate clothes (in one) and electronics and papers in the other. This is a soft, unpadded case, though it has a good frame and will look after itself to some extent. A soft case allows you to pack more easily, as it can bulge a bit, but, of course, it offers less protection.Overall, for the frequent traveller, this is an extremely well-specified carrry-on bag.

Nicely designed and highly practical cabin case
I know it's going to be quite a while before I fly again, so you'll have to excuse me for submitting a preliminary review, before having used this in earnest.Things I like are its fairly light weight, the rigid exterior but nicely padded and lined interior, the multiple compartments to allow some well-organised packing, the integral combination lock, the retracting handle's smooth action and its free-wheeling undercarriage. It's also the optimum size for carry-on luggage. In fact, there is only one thing that I'm not 100% convinced about - the robustness of the main compartment's zip. Whilst the zip-tags are big, chunky metal ones, the zip itself seems slightly on the flimsy side and I did pull it open rather gingerly around the corners. Only time will tell how tough it really is.Currently advertised price seems a little steep too, but I guess you do expect to pay a bit over the odds for a big-name brand like Kipling, which should guarantee reliable quality.

Good case
This is a really good small suitcase that is light but sturdy, seems well-made and looks quite smart. Despite being light, it is well-padded inside; the pull-along handle works well. Four stars.
