This hat works great for me. It is easy to tighten or loosen with the velcro strap on the back. There is padding on the inside for comfort and protection. There is also padding between the hat and hard shell. That's why it looks kinda weird in the front. For extra protection. This hat is worth every penny.

While not a hard hat it is great for working in confined areas like under a deck or in an attic where you tend to bump into rafters and often a nail that is showing. I would recommend this as it is natural to wear a hat while working and you get the extra protection of the hard insert.

Certainly saved me from a number of head cracks. Great for the kind of work I do. I'd give it 5 stars, but for one problem. It gets sweaty. Like really sweaty, real quick. There are a few air holes around the side that work well, but up top, the ventilation is lacking. If you need it for a specific space (i.e. attic) where you can pop it on, do what you need to do and take it off, it's perfect. But when you wear it for more than 20 minutes it turns your head into a swamp.

I got this for working in my basement which has a very low ceiling. I've bashed my head in so many times down there I'm surprised I'm still living. This hat is actually very comfortable and doesn't add 2" to your height like a normal hard hat. Great for tight spaces. When sweating in the summer I've had normal hard hats fall off when you bend down to look at something. This one is light and stays in place.It's stiff all the way around so I'm able to keep one of those head-lamps in place on it even when not in use. If you put a head-lamp on a normal baseball hat it will just fall off when you take off the hat. It stay put on this hat so I just have it permanently on there. I love this aspect of it and use it as much when I need a head-lamp as when I need a hard-hat. Now that I think about how much I like it, I going to go buy another one.

I am required to wear head protection at work, Most of the crew wear Hard hats, but we are allowed to wear bump caps except in construction areas. This is a good option for me. Th only issue I have is the cap is hot & my head sweats. But this is still a lot more comfortable than the hard had the Co. provides.

It was a nice change, to the helmets I have bought. I put a clip on strap, in case of a fall. He was happy!
