The media could not be loaded. Another update: this machine allowed me to evacuate 6 lbs of R-22 charge from my 25 yo Bryant ac condenser. Everything worked as it should. The only thing is that even after auto-shut off and purge cycle, there was still quite some liquid refrigerant left inside the machine.Update after a year of use: I had 3 occasions to use this machine to evacuate R134 refrigerant from a small vine cooler and the machine worked as it should. Getting ready for a bigger job for it.Original review: If you are reading a review of recovery machine then you probably know what it is for. And you heard of Hilmor. It makes one of the best tools for HVAC jobs. They are pricey - yes, but they are built virtually indestructible. This machine is not an exception - the plastic cover is ugly but it means business and will get the job done even in tough field jobs. The machine has electronic screen that shows input and output pressure, units are selectable PSI/bar. Once source is empty, units automatically switch to InHG and show vacuum level. Has purge function to keep it clean. When works it create a strong air stream on both side. It can be used as a fan (not a joke) to keep your recovery tank cool. Power cord is neatly wrapped at the back. It can do both - pull and push recovery modes. Works with all know refrigerants except for combustible (but those not need recovery and can be let out to air). I am very pleased with this machine and feel it will last me a lifetime.

Update: It lasted about 15 recoveries before seizing. One of the plastic compressor valves broke at the spring retainer, releasing the valve and allowing it to get crushed in the cylinder.I love this thing. Much better than the yellow brands.

box was in very bad shape all beat up, i thought it was a used machine, broken foam inside, no instruction book. and as far as i can tell it had been open before cause it was re taped. got the feeling that i paid for a used machine. it works had recover refrigerant from 3 condenser so far look like it gonna be ok.

Works great and is easy to set up use. Great investment for an auto shop or home. Great buy for the price.

Overall I am pleased with this recovery machine.It arrived well packaged and damage free.It pulls a steady, strong vacuum and I have had no overheating issues ect.I have used it on 4 jobs so far and I could not be happier with it.I would buy it again.5 STARS
