STAT : High Caloric Liquid Diet - 16 oz

Our 14 year old doxie mix has kidney failure and had completely lost her appetite. She is getting sub Q fluids twice a week. I'm an RN, and I since we use Ensure or various nutritional supplements for people who can't eat enough calories, I searched for a supplement for dogs and found this STAT. We have been squirting 5cc of this into her mouth using a needle-less syringe at least once a day. At first, when she wasn't eating at all, we did this 2-3x/day, but now we only use it in the morning. She seems to like the taste, and it doesn't have much of an odor--perhaps almost vanilla-like. Since we started her on this, her appetite has improved so much that it's now back to normal. She's maintained her weight since we started this a couple of months ago. Her labs kidney values still aren't good, but she acts like she's fine! She loves going for walks and you'd never know she was 14!

I am a Shih Tzu Breeder of many years and STAT High Caloric Liquid Diet saves lives. I have Teacup and small Shih Tzu pups that won't eat enough food when weaning from Mom on their own. I don't wean my puppies and they wean themselves and stay with mom as long as they like. I bought my first Bottle of STAT from the vet and it is a MUST for all breeders. It's so rich and smells good enough to eat myself. I will not use anything less for my babies and I have STAT on hand 365 days a year. If your dog won't eat then STAT will help keep it alive, so never be without it. ALL puppies and dogs LOVE the taste! WARNING: NOT FOR CATS. I use STAT after every surgery as all of my pups are spay and neutered before leaving my hands. I keep my pups until old enough to be spay and neutered. I am a Pro breeder and rescue and I HIGHLY recommend STAT High Caloric Liquid Diet to anyone that has puppies, dogs that won't eat, or after surgery.

Worked well for patient with eating trouble

Our dog was recovering from surgery, wouldn’t eat and was losing weight. STAT was used to increase her calorie intake and nutrition. She ate it undiluted from my finger dip, by dip the first day. After that she would not eat or drink it straight, diluted or mixed with food. Not sure if it was just our dog, she wouldn’t eat anything. I would give it a try if your dog needs that extra boost in nutrition and calorie intake, your dog might like it.

My older dog was ill and not eating a thing. Actually used this with syringe into mouth for calories. Worked really well and he seemed to recover rapidly. Smells like vanilla icecream and is really pretty thick. Kept adding this onto food and he ate it well. Held up not refrigerated well.

My 7-year dog suddenly started getting really bad reflux and couldn't keep anything down. She lost almost 25% of her body weight in less than a month. Then my vet suggested Stat to mix in with her wet food. It softened the wet food and gave her extra calories. She absolutely loves it and is gaining weight!! It totally saved her life! Even better, she smells like vanilla!!

This is a simple concotion that as far as I can tell has vitamins (easy enough to get liquid ones instead) and a mixture of protein powder (the key) - plus powdered milk and sucrose. No remarkable resuts in our old pooch and feel Vets suggestion was not a good one in this case andvery costly. I think you could do better simply by letting the dog have a human version of ENSURE liquid booster drink. The only problem for any dog is managing slow adaption to any diet changes so as to avoid upsetting their tempermental guts and bowel is all. Moderation of Ensure (may a table spoon or two to start each meal - and working up to three to five times a day gave our dog a better result). Heck at her age a shot of Scotch might do the trick too :) Bottom line - If you are in a hurry and can afford it this works is all - can't prove it didn't.

I like everything about it and so do my dogs.If you have one that needs to gain weigh it works. Great for puppies so they don't go low sugar. I drizzle it on the can food they did not eat and with this on it they ate all the food.
