2 Hounds Design Freedom No Pull Dog Harness, 1 inch MD, Brown

I have to give this harness a 5-star review because this is the only harness our dog will walk with. She normally freezes and acts like the weight of the harness is keeping her from walking. Haha! She had this same brand of harness as a pup and eventually outgrew it. This dog will not put her head through a tight opening. She doesn't mind this harness because the part that goes over her head is large and doesn't touch her face. My dog is a mixed breed and has a barrel chest and a small neck; sizing for other harnesses would require her neck to be a size small and her chest to be a size medium. Pros: Works for dogs with small necks and large chests (choose size by chest size) The dog's legs are not constricted while walking The part of the harness that slips over the head is not tight. It's a large opening, so it doesn't push against the dog's face. A double leash can be used to prevent pulling. You can choose between 1" straps or 5/8" straps. Well-made, adjustable, and beautifully stitched Martingale loop at the back of the harness so it tightens slightly when you need to redirect the dog. "Chew Warranty" in case your dog accidentally gets hold of the harness and chews it... Cons: The clips for the 5/8" harness might be hard for people with big hands to unclip.

Easy enough to adjust. My Golden Retreiver responds well in this harness. This is the second one I purchased as my pup is now nearing full size. Highly recommend. Easy enough to get in and off.

No more pulling. Good Quality, Comfort and Fit. Prefer this harness to the Easy Walk (also good, but not as good as this one). My 65lb Lab Mix was an avid puller, walks are now a breeze and so enjoyable. Highly recommend. Currently using a single leash, hooked on front. May use double leash when going to the park or other more exciting environments.

I was looking for an upgrade to a back-clip only harness I had been using for my 40-pound golden doodle, and purchased this based on the reviews, customer service, and ability to adjust each section. Out of the package, this took about 15 minutes of adjustments and try-ons before finding the "just right" spot for each section. It fits well, buckles and O/D rings feel secure and sturdy, and I appreciate the detail of the velvet comfort strap. I also love the fact that this gives you a front and back clip option, to be used separately or together with the manufacturer recommended double-connection training leash (this was a main motivator for purchasing over other brands). The martingale loop gave me hesitation when purchasing because I avoid this feature in collars, but after fitting, my dog appeared to have no discomfort or airway constriction even when occasionally pulling hard against the leash while only back clipped during try on. I have two concerns with this harness: 1. Material and placement of buckles: because of my dog's build, these buckles hit right at her armpits. Not the manufacturer's fault, just a challenge we've had with any harness we've tried. She didn't seem to mind this any more than any other harness we've used, but I was hoping the adjustability on this harness would eliminate this. The buckles are also made of plastic, and while they are sturdy and feel reliable, I will continue to use a safety tether between leash and collar in the off-chance that a buckle should break or fail. 2. Condition of item received: the harness we got was clearly used, which is why I am knocking off one star. It is still in good shape, but had scratching to the buckle, and based on markings on the straps out of the package, had been readjusted several times. I ordered this expecting a new harness, rather than one with signs of minor wear. Overall, this is a solid harness that is extremely customizable and easy to fit, adjust, and take on/off without a dog having to step in. My dog is finished growing, so I am happy that this seems to be our new daily harness at her adult size/weight. I will update this review once we've clocked a few long walks with it.

Love, love, love my 2 Hounds Freedom No Pull Dog Harness! This is my second harness purchase (just because we use the first one several times a day and I love all the color choices). I have a 150 lb. female St. Bernard that I have a very hard time trying to find 'girly' collars and leashes and harnesses for. I got really tired of buying the one harness or collar that fit her (always in black or blue) and everyone would say what a 'big boy' she was! I purchased an XXL harness and collar in the rose color first, and have been loving it! I love the soft velvet on the chest straps, and the design of the harness and the two clip attachments really do eliminate pulling. Callie is not choking herself any more (by using a regular leash and collar) and I have a lot more control if she sees a rabbit or crow across the street and wants to chase it (she is too slow to ever actually catch anything!). I just bought the sunny yellow harness - so cute - and will be buying a new yellow collar to match. Highly recommend 2 Hounds products! I rarely write reviews but I love the fact that these products are made in the USA, the owner (or customer service?) answered a question I had regarding a product immediately, and the harnesses have surpassed my expectations - not only do they work and look great, I forgot to mention, I throw my 2 or 3 year old pink harness in the washing machine about once a week since we go to the beach and my dog loves to roll around on her back with the harness on, and the harness looks as good as brand new despite washing it well over 50 times!

Game over! After numerous harnesses for our collie mix, he finally can't escape by bending down and backing out of other harnesses. This is a game changer! He finally is comfortable walking with this harness. The martingale loop on top where leash attaches too gives and extra tightness when pulling to hard n dog doesn't struggle with other harnesses choking and panting. The soft velvet goes around his chest making it cozy n comfortable with no more sores from pulling hard from other harnesses rough material. Highly recommended by our Certified Behavorist! She absolutely 💯 knows n cares about dogs.

These Freedom Harnesses are the best! I have purchased three over the last 10 years, and the first one I bought looks just as good as the most recent (size M, L, and XL). The Freedom Harnesses are easy to use and fit to your dog's body. They have good, solid construction with metal attachments for the leash and a martingale loop. The bottom part around your dog's chest is a velvety soft material that does not rub. I feel confident when walking that my dog will not be able to pull free or get out of it, and it leaves me feeling safe. It is easy to handle. Overall A+!

This harness works better than a regular collar but it's still allows him to pull so the advertising isn't exactly what it says. It's easy to clip on him to take a walk though.

Easy to put on seems comfortable and I like the soft velvet straps which prevent rubbing. Would recommend.

This harness fits my greyhound well! Been using it about a month now and haven’t had any issues. I think the two leash points give a lot more control when walking him than a standard design.

My labradoodle pup did not enjoy walking and would pancake everywhere and anyway on our walks. So I bought a harness to encourage him to walk. It improved his walking, but it was a battle to get the harness over his head and off again because of the design. We started to bribe him with ice cubes containing peanut butter and kibble. Then one day I had a terrible incident where my pup slid out of his harness. That was the day I said enough with the poorly designed harness (see grey harness) sold through Pet Smart and looked to purchase the 2 Hounds No Pull Freedom Harness. I found an add on item deal for the colour purple for $9.00 compared to $30 or more for other colours. I decided it was worth the risk to try out a new harness. The 2 Hounds No Pull Freedom Harness is well constructed and has a velvet strap that goes under the front legs. I have used this item with my pup for nearly two months. It is so easy to get on over his head and now he is more cooperative about putting on the harness. The harness has a D ring on the top and the front. I learned recently that the ergonomics of the harness improve when the collar and the front D ring are attached together to the leash. If you purchase this harness remember to check to make sure it is fitted properly - not too tight or too loose. My pup has grown very fast and has required a lot of adjustments to ensure the harness has a good fit. My 42 pound pup is wearing the medium harness with lots of room to grow. I bought a second harness for when the first harness gets wet. The harness itself does not teach the dog not to pull. You need to train the dog how to heel. Lots of good videos out there to teach your dog how to walk. He walks awesome around the neighbourhood and city. He still pulls around most new dogs and scents in parks, but he is learning to "leave it" and his recall word. My pup and I now enjoys outings that last 3 - 6 hours around town and at the beach/park. I am happy with my purchase.
