I got this because I had a 2230-sized 256 GB NVMe drive that I pulled out of a friend's laptop, and he didn't want it since it was such a small capacity. I had a free NVME slot, but unfortunately, the slot didn't allow for installing a 2230 in it since there was no place for the screw. This was a quick and cheap solution to that problem. Now I am using that 256 GB NVME as a Cache and Scratch drive for Lightroom, Photoshop, and Premiere.This NVME was easy to install into the extender. The extender fits into the NVMe slot of the motherboard precisely and works really well. The extender feels really durable but it is also scored so you can break off pieces to fit the size you need, like if you need a 2230 to be 2242, you only leave one extender piece and break off the rest.

I am happy I had a last minute thought about a harvested NVMe not being long enough for the Mobo I had just bought. Adding $5 for the peace of mind knowing that I was now foolproof was worth the money. Tempted to take a star off as the whole implementation seemed a drop less secure than what I was hoping for, but it works, and does the job as described.

It works but I couldn't really tighten it to hold my 2230 ssd that well but once i installed my 2230 I slid this in pressed it down and put the screw on and it works as intended so overall happy with it.

Works great although I did fine it peculiar that it had a 1000 MB transfer speed so I asked a question and got this. Good catch! The JEYI M2 M2PLUS NVMe Extender is showing "Digital Storage Capacity: 1000 GB" in the specs, but that's a mislabeling by the seller — this is just a passive metal mounting bracket, not a storage device itself.It's simply an empty adapter that lets you mount smaller M.2 NVMe drives (like 2230) into larger slots (2242/2260/2280). The "1000 GB" attribute shouldn't be there and appears to be an error in the product data.The bracket itself holds no data — it just physically positions your actual SSD in the slot.

My laptop crashed and Win11 could not recover or repair, at all. Rather than do a clean install and destroy all the data on my M.2 NVMe SSD, I ordered a new NVMe, but I neglected to check what was in there and got the wrong size. I needed a 2242 but ordered a 2230. That meant I could not secure the 2230 with a screw, because this laptop was designed for a minimum 2242 NVMe.That's where this handy kit comes in. It came in a small, pretty sturdy box, with those flaps that fold into it, and inside that, was a hard plastic baggie with the adapter panels, all intact, and one screw. Since I was mounting a 2230 to a 2242 slot, I needed to snap off the 30 to 42 tab, and it was conveniently the one that had the screw fastener already attached to it.You will need to fasten the screw from the bottom up, to secure the tab to the NVMe. That part was a bit tricky, because it's almost like you need three hands to do this, but it's not really too difficult. Then you flip it back over and install the drive and secure it to the mother board. Once it was attached to the NVMe, mounting it to the mo-bo was super easy, barely an inconvenience. (FYI, I installed a heatsink on the drive after connecting the tab to the NVMe, and before mounting it to the mo-bo.)For ~$4, this is a good value to get you out of a jam, if you have the wrong size NVMe to install.

Bought this to place a smaller sized sad drive in my older laptop. Easy to use.

Fast delivery and yes you can get it cheaper elsewhere but if you need a quick fix and something that works this bracket did the trick. Be sure to size up the m.2 + brackets to your motherboard before snapping off the end piece

It didn't screw on well, but it does the job. And that is all I need. Thanks, cheap as well.
