NO Quality Control, etc.
Sent with NO product seal on the tin....tin came open....tea all over inside of envelope....I called Charleston Tea and they assured me that ALL teas have a safety seal and advised me NOT to drink the tea. I would imagine someone didn't look closely at what they were doing....didn't care....or DON'T drink the tea....either way, the inside of the envelope looked like ants crawling everywhere....FDA laws??? Hmmm....

Lots of room for improvement.
I was so excited that I could buy green tea that is produced in the United States. Unfortunately, the quality is not much better than what you find in a bag of Lipton's green tea. Leaves are shredded, taste is thin, and somewhat metallic and harsh. The instructions say to pour boiling water over the tea as well, which shocked me, knowing boiling water ruins green tea and increases bad tendencies. I'm glad this company exists, but I sincerely hope they improve the quality, and maybe learn what a great green tea should taste like, and how it should be brewed. I won't buy again until I hear things have changed.

Same as bagged green tea.
I'm down to half the can now, and I'm not really impressed. This isn't any better than Bigelow bagged tea, or any other bagged green tea. This claims to be loose leaf, but really it's just tiny pieces of shredded leaf without a bag. It's the same as a bagged tea.But I'm saying this as a spoiled matcha drinker. Matcha is a far better way to drink tea. I look forward to the day when matcha is grown in the USA.

Taste great & no bitterness whatsoever & grown without pesticides in South Carolina
I don't see any stems or twigs like the previous reviews. All I see is dried green leaves, smell nice. The taste is clean, no bitterness whatsoever. I'm glad to find this green tea, grown in USA without pesticides, which doesn't upset my tummy like the imported Jasmine green tea.If you google "imported tea and pesticides", you'll find reports done by CBC entitled "Strange Brew". Here's an excerpt: "Using an accredited lab, CBC used the testing method employed by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) to test pesticides. Half of the teas tested contained pesticide residues above the allowable limits in Canada. And eight of the 10 brands tested contained multiple chemicals, with one brand containing residues of 22 different pesticides. Another report: "Greenpeace investigators found: Even some of the most famous and expensive teas sold under popular brands -- like Wuyutai, Tenfu and Eight Horses -- contained pesticides that are banned in China or even worldwide. Also an article "What's in your green tea?" about a woman with breast cancer: "But six months later - during which time she had been eating her organic diet and drinking green tea-she was rocked by the results of another blood test: Her DDT levels had risen to 1.1 parts per billion ... she had the tea tested and discovered that it was, indeed, contaminated."Since I didn't see the organic label on this tea, I wrote to the company, and received this info. from Charleston Plantation, SC, where the tea was grown "We do not use any pesticides on our tea plants, the only reason we are not considered organic is because we use a nitrogen fertilizer on our plants. Please visit our website at charlestonteaplantation.com and I hope you will be able to visit us in the future to see how tea is made!"

Tea Grown in the USA!
This tea is grown in the USA, so I don't worry about the chemicals that might be applied to overseas shipments. It has a mellow flavor, and I love the tin. The only slight criticism I have is that the leaves are broken into pieces instead of being whole. But for a product that tastes good and which I can trust, I can live with that.

Best green tea!
Best green tea we’ve found and we love supporting one of our favorite businesses we always visit when in Charleston. Never bitter and brews a perfect cup that I don’t even need honey at times. Delicious! And I love they use NO pesticides.

Smooth & rich, never chalky or bitter
My new favorite tea! I was excited to find an American grown product and was more than happy with the quality. I like my tea strong & without cream or sweeteners and this one stands up to that level of scrutiny- never bitter, never chalky, this green tea has a smooth, rich taste that you won’t find elsewhere in a green tea. Must be that sweet Charleston humidity~

excellent flavor
Visited the Charleston Tea Plantation were I first tried this tea. Excellent flavor and the tea is grown and produced in the USA. Comes in a lovely tin. Price in the same as the company order page but shipping is too high so the Amazon price comes out cheaper.
