Lara journeys from the ruins of Rome to the bowels of a German U-boat to the rooftops of a high-tech city in search of four ancient artifacts. The game uses the same graphics engine that was used in Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation, but introduces new moves: tightrope walking, parallel-bar swinging, and a hand-to-hand stealth attack. Create your own adventure with the Tomb Raider level editor, which includes a tutorial level and all of the tools that are required to construct custom levels. P.when('A').execute(function(A) { A.on('a:expander:toggle_description:toggle:collapse', function(data) { window.scroll(0, data.expander.$expander[0].offsetTop-100); }); }); Review Lara Croft, that cultural icon, cover girl, and scourge of wildlife everywhere, was last seen buried beneath an Egyptian pyramid at the end of Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation. Despite this apparent demise, Lara returns in Tomb Raider: Chronicles, an adventure that features previously unseen episodes from her career. Old friends of Lara who have gathered for her funeral and to swap stories about her exploits introduce the episodes. The first level is set in Rome, and is classic Lara: plenty of jumping and puzzle solving, with a minimum of gunplay. It's reminiscent of the very first Tomb Raider--it even features the comedy bad guys Pierre and Larson from that game. This chapter also serves as an introduction to Lara's various moves, and is a real nostalgia-fest for longtime fans. The other chapters have distinct themes: on a spooky deserted island, an unarmed teenage Lara must get through by wits alone; an action-packed level takes place on a submarine; and, most intriguing of all, Lara infiltrates a high-tech building and utilizes various stealth techniques. This is very Metal Gear Solid-esque, and possibly indicates the direction that the series will take in the future. (Lara's not really dead? Now, there's a surprise.) Unfortunately, the difficult control system remains, and the graphics have been given only a slight polish. An array of customary new moves have been added --this time, Lara can use a tightrope, for example--but these essentially are cosmetic. The gameplay overall hasn't evolved much, but, thankfully the puzzles are less obscure this time around, and the tightly designed levels cut down on the aimless wandering that was common in the middle games of the series.Tomb Raider fans will be very happy with what probably is the most purely enjoyable game since the series' first. Lara-phobes will take more convincing, but all of the hype that surrounds her shouldn't obscure the fact that the divine Ms. Croft hasn't appeared in a bad game yet, and Tomb Raider: Chronicles is no exception. --Michael Bartley -- desertcart.co.uk See more Review: Llego en perfecto estado y en el tiempo estimado. Fair Game but not the best
It was hard to give this game this rating, but I feel it was required. They did improve game play and details, but has the story goes it was only fair. I mainly blame that you are play short stories. So that can't be helped. The only thing I have against the game was the short running time. The past titles took forever to get through and would pose a challenge. I went through this like it was nothing. The first level also doesn't give you much ammo has well. One thing I found funny was that since this was a prequel, which by the way I'm getting sick of seeing, how come she has new moves that she didn't have in the last. I know that's a poor point and I already know that answer. It is just something I feel needed to be said. Really my last grievance I have for this game was the end. Who here never feels sated when they finish a TR game. they are normally short with no real closure. You but your but for tons of hours to get some cheep end that just leaves you wit more questions they you started with. Don't even get me started on the end to the Soul Reaver game. I do see the level editor giving you more and that could be a great application to be added if they ever make an online option for the TR games one day. You can design levels and play others from all over the world. Talk about a challenge. This option also give TR a multi player option. Make a level for your friend and time how long it takes for him/her to get through. It is a good game and if your a TR fan I saw play it, but rent it first if your not a drop dead fan. If your any good you'll buzz through pretty quickly. Good stories, but not what the adventurer in us would like. We need more. I can't wait to see what the next TR game has planned for the PS2 release besides the new outfit, and improved graphics. You'll be able to see all those fine curves.

A Tombstone for a Tomb Raider...
Firstly, contact the seller you're buying this game from to make sure it's for the platform you have, as some PC versions were mislisted as Dreamcast (personal experience). This apparent Funeral action/adventure game is actually a creative idea but gets annoying at times. The memorial for Lara is being held at Croft Manor & the stories about her previously unknown adventurers are being told by Father Patrick (Croft Family Priest), Winston (her Butler) & Charles Kain (known as Jean-Yves in TR 4 , name changed due to complaints). Check websites for ways to avoid/exploit bugs in the game. The stories are actually interesting and there is fun to be had in Chronicles, so give it a try if you're a TR fan & want a decent Dreamcast game. It's about 10-12 hours long, uses 4 blocks for saving options and 19 blocks for each game save. The VMU will display a level specific pic on its screen while playing, so be sure to look at it during each level. The Iris artifact which appeared in TR 4's training level is the item sought after in the Von Croy Industries level (FYI). It's only 4 levels long but they are a bit lengthy, challenging & interesting & the controls have been improved since TR 4.

Avoid Dreamcast Version
If you have to get this game, either get the pc version or playstation version. This game is full of bugs. I reccomend the playstation version because of its stability. Once you get past that the game is not too bad. Also at the end of the dreamcast version there is a glitch that can wipe out your save.
