Good read!
Historical fiction book are my favorite, especially biblical fiction. What is important to me in a great work of biblical fiction is accuracy, along with developed characters and a smooth-moving storyline. This book hit all of those, though there were a few things I didn't care for, such as what almost happened to Merrie with the golden calf. Without spoiling anything, I will say that I don't think that was accurate to the biblical account of what was happening there or necessary at all to the story. The first few chapters were rushed and left me feeling a bit confused, but as I kept reading I realized that they had to be rushed in order to fit the rest of the story, which mainly is about their journey through the desert. Also, unless I missed it somewhere, we were never told how old Tirzah's youngest brother was, so it was a little hard for me to imagine his character. All in all though, it was a really good read and I enjoyed it! I recommend it to those who like biblical fiction as well! Well done!

Very well written, great book for ancient history!
This was a great book! Get ready for a thrilling ride straight into the years of Moses, a hero in the Bible. As you follow Tirzah through the tough times of being a slave, to crossing the red sea; it will feel as though you went through it yourself. For me, it made something that just seemed like a regular Bible story, come alive! I highly recommend this book.

Ancient Civilizations supplement
This is a wonderful book for students studying Ancient Civilizations (usually 6th grade). It is a historical fiction account of the Exodus told from the perspective of one young girl. I appreciated the integrity of the book in its explanation of the culture, customs and people of the time. It is an enjoyable read.

Good homeschool book
I`m 10 years old and I`m homeschooled. We are studying Moses, the Israelites and their journey. Since this book took place at that time, it was cool to hear the story from an Israelite's perspective (Tizrah.) It was so cool to see Tizrah and her emotions through out the story. The story needed to be longer. It left me hanging, and I wanted to see what happened next. 4 stars, Tizrah is still a really good book!

Great book!
We just got done reading Tirzah and my daughters and I loved it! It is easy and pleasant to read, it's engaging and puts you in the times of the Exodus. It made us all think more personally what might have been and what people went through emotionally. I thought the author did a great job turning everything back to God which gave us great discussion. This is fiction and it gives you another aspect of the Israelites that maybe you haven't considered before! We loved it and are looking for other books from the same author!

A Great Story
We read this book as part of our homeschool curriculum. It is a lovely story of historical fiction that helps all who read it better understand the Israelites escape from Egypt and wandering in the dessert.

Good Biblical Historical Fiction
3.5 starThis was an interesting book based on the Hebrew's Exodus from Egypt and their journey towards the Promised Land. Tirzah and her family learn about trusting God and having hope even during dark times. I recommend it to those who enjoy Biblical historical fiction, specifically late elementary-middle school children.

Unique and valuable
A story from a unique perspective and valuable in presenting an often overlooked historical and biblical understanding of a people, a culture and a place.
