Great but smaller than my other pie pans
I bought this to share pies with other family members. It works great and baked well. It’s nonstick so each half comes out easily, especially with the removable bottom.

Weird, but great quality
Have to give it 5 stars for the excellent quality of the metal. I've only made two half pies once, but it definitely worked to do that! Also comes with a flat bottom for a single pie.

Great for experimenting or pie for two
I do really like this pan a lot. Some down sides - Obviously, it's not water-tight since the bottom is removable. This usually isn't a problem with pies since the bottom crust generally holds any liquid, but it's not designed to be used for looser deserts like an apple crisp. I've even found that any grease or butter will sizzle out of the bottom and drop into the oven, so I usually put something on the shelf under it to catch drips just in case. Also, please note that you have to chose ONE of the bottoms that come with the pan and keep the other in the cupboard... you don't just insert the split bottom over the flat bottom. I've seen reviews complaining about uncooked bottom crusts, but I believe that is user error, not a design flaw... either they are not cooking their pies properly or have left both bottoms in the pan (or perhaps have set it directly on a cookie sheet to catch drips instead of setting the cookie sheet on the shelf below like I do, which permits more airflow around the pan.)If this is a major concern for you, I recommend blind-baking bottom crusts before filling but I haven't seen any marked difference between my bottom crusts in this pan vs other pie pans when making the same recipes.Another thing to note... my standard 9in pie ring doesn't fit well on this pan and I have to use a hand-made D-shaped piece of tinfoil to protect the edges, which is a little annoying, but what can you do, right? It's a D-shaped pie!Up sides - Easy to clean, easy to use and allows you to make smaller servings of home-made pies. It's just two of us in our household and my husband complains if I make too much dessert... he's always watching his weight. I prep several pies at once in this kind of split-pan and freeze them. When I'm ready, I take it out, spray half of my split pan and pop the frozen pie in to bake. Perfect 4 servings of fresh homemade pie on demand!I've never actually used the flat bottom, but the removable bottoms makes removing a pie from the pan (once frozen or baked) incredibly easy and neat... no digging around and making crumbs or loosing bits of crust. Would be neat for making multiple pie flavors for a bigger family.Definitely worth a try for bakers, pie enthusiasts and small households.

Perfect for 2 people!
I had been debating this item for a while. I mean, does one really need a special pie pan for making half pies? Another thing to store somewhere in my tiny kitchen?Well, many months into Covid-time lock down, the answer was yes. I really needed a little splurge. But a whole pie? We might spread it out over a couple days but, that's still a lot of pie for two people.I've only tried it once, and I actually ended up making a whole pie just with a big divider in it, but that made it very easy for me to split it in half and then give half to another couple. I am confident you could just make the half pie, or two different pies that have the same cooking requirements.Pros:- Running the crust of the middle made dividing it after cooking very easy.- The pan is extremely easy to clean.- There don't seem to be any weird curl-over metal lips that water can get into and rust, and all the surfaces are extremely smooth.- It comes with a flat insert as well so you can actually make a regular "whole" pie.- Since the inserts pop out I think it'll be pretty reasonable for a non-baked pie with a firm crust, you can pop the whole pie out for display purposes or whatever.Cons:-This is probably more a bit of user error - my other pie pans are glass or ceramic, and so this pie took a good bit longer to cook than expected, but that probably has more to do with the fact that I don't usually cook in metal pie pans.- With the non-stick (Teflon or Teflon-like) coating I wouldn't want to use a sharp knife and risk scratching it, so you have to make a pie that's firm enough to be removed from the pan. (That said, when I pulled the pie out at first - it was an under-cooked peach pie - it still popped out of the pan beautifully, and I was able to slide it back into the pan no problem to finish cooking it).

Pan is multi pieces
I did not see in any of the pics or descriptions where it says the pan has multiple pieces. The split comes out and there is another piece for a regular pan. Might think it’s nice but cannot use with runny pie filling for fear of oozing out all over the place.

Great pan
This pan works surprisingly well. The insert allows you to lift out your pie from the bottom. You can use it to make one pie, without the divider or two with. Either way, works great.

Great Pie Pan with Options
Saw this half pie pan on a TV cooking bakeoff, and realized it's perfect for my single friend who loves to treat herself by baking half a pie occasionally. She currently rigs a normal pie pan with foil, but this pan will make her work so much easier. Plus the half pie divider is removable so the pan can be used to make a whole pie if she wants. This will be the perfect Christmas gift for her!
