Otterbox has made a forever name in the world of electronic protection products to those who have used them ... this case is none the less & in my opinion better than the previous cases in the past. It’s definitely smaller, slimmer & more convenient to carry & use. Even though the bulk & psychology that bulkiness offers more protection is gone - this case is just as protective as the defender if not better - I’ve dropped my phone & fumbled it from pretty high up onto concrete & watched it literally bounce like a ball to a safe landing ... no damage to my phone or even to the case.... this case does not have the screen protector attached, which I like bc I use the glass screen protectors & in the past those hooked to the case caused me problems with touch screens. It has a beveled edge on the front so it's higher than your screen keeping it from having to lay flat face on a surface & the same for the back protecting your camera. It also covers the buttons & extends further than the openings you need to access but doesn’t hinder getting to them easily. The only thing I don’t like is the rubber front does get dirty & is visible & bc the back is plastic there’s a small gap between the front & back where debris does accumulate but these things are inevitable with any case. But I’ve bought others in different colors bc i like it that much, it’s attractive & beyond serves it’s purpose. Oh & the warranty process - if you need to replace it for any reason you just go online to the warranty page, pick your brand of phone & type of case, fill in your personal info, pay a $5.99 shipping fee & a new one is sent out to you. Don’t even have to call anybody or deal with the auto prompts when calling 800 numbers lol

This was a purchase to replace an older identical case that had been in use since October 2016. I was sufficiently satisfied with the original case that I ordered an identical replacement rather than seeking an alternative. The case fits the phone perfectly, and it feels good in the hand and gives a reasonable sense of security in gripping the phone. The back and parts of the top and side edges are hard plastic; the rest of the top and side edges and most of the bottom edge (with openings for speaker, charging port, etc.) are a moderately hard rubber-like material. Into this material are molded a raised tab on the right side that activates the power button and is within easy reach of the right thumb, and two similar tabs on the left side which activate the volume buttons and if desired can be accessed by the right index finger.The original case needed replacement because the hard rubber-like material was breaking down. Parts of one edge were separating from the plastic back (first photo), the material itself had become so soft that the power and volume button tabs had flattened into the surface of the edges and could no longer be felt (second photo), and parts of the inner lip that surrounds the screen were peeling away (third photo) . This deterioration had begun a number of months before I decided to replace the case. I don't know if one should expect such a material to endure longer than about three years, but because of the deterioration I have given only three stars to the Durability rating and four to the Sturdiness rating.

I have five phones in my family and every single one of them have this case.In fact, I will not buy a phone unless the OtterBox Symmetry fits it. This is without question the best slimline case there is out there. Maybe not as protective as a Defender - so if you’re going to drop it off of a roof I would imagine it will break but I’ve dropped my phones numerous times and so far I have never had an issue - and this is about the ninth symmetry case I have bought for iPhones and Samsung’s.The only gripe I have is the rubber can become a little bit loose around the volume key and speaker after about eight months or so, but they have a one-year warranty.A bit of a lesser concern is if you set it down with the case side down it has a tendency to slip or slide (in the car, etc) but if you put it facedown so that the phone glass is towards the ground, the rubber pretty much keep it from moving off of the dashboard of my car.Once I even left it on my roof and drove home and the wow, the phone was still there - although I would not recommend testing that!! So get in the habit of setting your phone down facedown with this case on it.

I bought this case for my daughter and it is a quality product by Otterbox. What is better is that it does not break the bank. I purchased it for $35. While you can get cases for $10 on Amazon I felt comfortable with the increase in price because (a) it was Otterboax brand; (b) the materials are quality; and (c) the graphics are well done and generally unavailable at the lower price points. Some reviewers complain that this does not feel like the same rugged construction that other Otterboxs employ. But this products is an alternative to those and a good one. Those other products are protect for all (many) perils while this Box is a compromise of look/feel and protection. It is sleek rather than bulky. In fact the material is the type that is smooth to the touch and does not get hung on other materials. It provides protection for the primary killer of Iphones - the drop. The rubber interior is quality material and provides a good cushion for the phone to set in. The beveled/extended edge ("screen bumper" as Otterbox calls it) protects against the face plant that has destroyed many a screen. I personally do not buy a case anymore without this feature. I like that the buttons are covered on the side. It simply covers one more point of possible water or dirt infiltration. It does not come with a screen protector but frankly I buy those separately. Good product and worth the extra money.
