Not a fan
I'm use to using canvas, but I couldn't find any affordable on amazon at the time so I ordered this paper. I dont really like it honestly. The acrylic paint tends to not absorb and leaves white specs so a painting that would look more professional looks sorta kidish.

Handles heavy applications of acrylic paint as well as watercolor type applications.
Hi artists. I was looking for a paper that would support a fairly heavy application of acrylic for my Dracula project. I tried fabriano artistico hot press but it started to pill up after a few layers. ( you could probably do an acrylic watercolor type application on fabriano without trouble. Not saying anything bad about fabriano since i did not use as intended.). I only found two acid free acrylic papers — this and one by strathmore. This is nice thick paper bound into a pad. The first page came off on three edges but i was able to hold it in place with binder clips. The other pages are secure. I sprayed the first layer pretty heavily with water and got a tiny bit of pilling but none after that. Paper took some medium thickness layers of paint with no problem. I think it will take heavier layers as well. Okay for glazing and for acrylic inks although the cold press surface is a bit rough for inks applied with a pen. I used golden fluid paints and Liquitex acrylic inks. The packaging says that it is acid free but says nothing about what the paper itself of made of. Nothing on website either. Mystery. Paper surface is a nice off white and looks like a watercolor cold press. Inside cover has a nice chart re their different papers. Canson says most suitable for charcoal, pastel, watercolor and acrylic. I only tried acrylic. 185 lbs so nice thickness. My only problem was when i removed the artists tape which tore the paper. It’s happened before with this tape on other papers so I don’t think it’s the canson paper. I think scotch brand artists tape will be okay. ( Expensive!).I also bought a pad of strathmore 400 acrylic paper to try out. It has a linen texture which I don’t like much but is very thick (285 lbs or something like that.). I will post a review there after i test it out if you are interested.Packaging was fine. Arrived shrink wrapped and inside a box. No damage and got it in one day.

Nice heavy paper
This is a nice heavy paper that is an alternative to canvas. I t’s quite a bit heavier than 140# watercolor paper and it really stays pretty flat. It will curl up a bit but no buckling so it's easy for framing or mounting on a cradled panel. Normally, watercolor paper needs to be flattened substantially (even Arches) but that's not the case with this paper. It also has a nice texture.
