Dog loves it, but not under belly support
The one sentence problem- the piece under the bellyight as well not exist. Any pulling/lifting from where leash would attach would result in 100% of force being applied to the dogs throat.More details and why pawtitas still is my favorite brandYes, the crazy dog has two harnesses on. He's recently shown he has a very defined opinion regarding harnesses and after trying both on and removing both he was given a choice and climbed into both. It's not quite the safety/construction orange he's decided he has to have, but it's far brighter than the standard pumpkin orange so he's decided it's close enough. More like traffic cone orange.Pawtitas has been my favorite brand since shortly after this guy was born in June of 2013. We'll say since around Jan 2014. Because they seem to be made with small dogs in mind.. They're one of the only brands around that the xsmalls, and xxsmalls have chest pieces that are adjustable. See below at very end for more explanation. This harness has the adjustable strap. I think I could adjust it short enough if I cut the strap, but it's a loop like always, and is about double the length this guy needs for it to fit right.Unfortunately this harness got returned as the long black piece that sits along the belly, the bottom of it is not attached to anything. In theory it tucks under the strap around the belly. Likely because this guy is square, short legs and short body length, making the adjustable strap as short as it goes, knowing it really needs to be shorter, the bottom slides all over. After about fifteen min of him laying fat on his belly so I couldn't take either harness away, when he got up the bottom end was not on his belly anymore, it was running down his side. Since he has short legs and thus does not jump more than about 4 inches, and he basically goes everywhere I go, he gets picked up all the time. And as he lays on the ground as soon as you reach to pick him up, he gets picked up by his harness. That center piece not in his belly is a problem.Basically end up with a circle around his neck, that's not adjustable in any way, and an adjustable strap around the belly that connects to the circle around his neck. If you grab, or he pulls on a leash, that circle around his neck is going to yank his head back by his throat with no support under him.Maybe this one was defective and the long black piece is supposed to attach to the black tab on the orange belly strap. Seems that would resolve the issue. That would be a simple single row, probably across and back, of atitchend added which is simple enough. However, that and realistically needing to cut the adjustable strap to make it short enough along the belly is more adjustments to the harness out of the box then I want to make. Also not sure how safe it remains if I make adjustments to it.Yes the dog really likes it. However, I also ordered a standard step through also made by pawtitas, that may or may not be small enough. Dang dog is between sizes of everything. Blew up like a balloon when he got neutered at 5yrs old, and even loosing weight chest stays the same and nothing fits right. So, we'll work with it, or order the next size smaller again and let him look like it's squeezing him to death even though it doesn't.We have all Chihuahuas. For several years, until this rare tri-colot blue got nutured, we had 3 that weighed, 8lbs, 9.5lbs and 7.5lbs. now they are 9lbs, 9.5lbs and 12/13lbs. Their chests were 11", 11.5" and 13". Now they're 12", 13" and 13.25".The catch though, the 8lb now 13lbs one is 2 full inches shorter from the back of his neck to tail than his brother, the now 9lb (was 7lb) and a full inch shorter than 9.5lb one, momma. Essentially, they're all the same size size just different body lengths, and one with super short legs.In the world or harnesses that means they are all the same some size.Except that two inches makes a significant difference when trying to fit a harness or anything else. Reality is the same size rarely fits an 11" long dog and a 13" long dog. Tryimg to find ones where the little guy's weewee is covered by the strap, yeah 75% of everything he's going to pee on every time.Adjustable belly strap is a must..

Still bigger for being 2extra small.
I liked that it is sturdy and the durability is more than expected.

Most escape proof I found.
My pug can wiggle out of any harness. This one is the best we had. It’s good fitting and she can’t easily escape! I have bought 3 so far.

Too big
This was such a pretty harness but it was too big for my 8 pound puppy. It was returned. But it seemed very well made.

Measure your dog. dont go by weight.
My dogs neck size is 14 in and chest is 24 in. From reading that I this runs small I decided that the medium size is the way to go. I'm glad I did. From neck measurement it sounds like the small would be fine but the medium fits her perfect. It's not too big and not too small. Although if she gets any bigger there may be issues. The chest part is adjustable so that was perfect. A word of advice: don't get a size based off your dogs weight. That's ridiculous. You need to actually measure your dog. My dog is 46lbs. She weighs more than she looks and is quite petite, but she exercises a lot. There are dogs bigger than her that weight that much or smaller dog that have the same weight. weight does not determine The collar or harness size. You need to measure your dog. This is a very nice material and durable. I got the teal color and it's very pretty. Just a little lighter than what I see on my iPhone 6 using standard brightness.

Love all my Pawtitas pieces!
Love Pawtitas products!!Just ordered our fourth harness. Our cocker pup is wearing size small. She’s 4 months old so will need a medium in about a month or so. We have three leashes, and three different collars and everything is well made, and looks great! The teal is awesome and the colour is consistent between all the various pieces I’ve ordered. My friend who has a frenchie pup, a month younger, is getting our hand-me-downs! She loves them too!

Love my matching pawtitas gear
We love it. Purchased the Teal, but it’s more of a seafoam green and we love the colour. Measure your dog’s chest/girth and neck to ensure you’re getting the right fit. This fits my 4M old pup well. It slides easily over her head and was easily adjusted to her chest size. Gives free range of motion to her shoulders when running and provides enough support on her chest when she tries to run after squirrels or birds or blowing leave. The only design changes I would ask for is for an adjustable neck size. For the shape of my dog’s head this fits very well but I can see that dog with large heads vs. neck size they may have difficulty with this.

Very well made
Update- Lemmy is now 10 months and over 100lbs. He’s very strong and still fearful on walks so when he starts pulling, he could easily drag me down. The harness is still holding up great. I could use an XL but I don’t think they make one.I have a giant breed puppy who is very fearful so on walks when he gets scared he pulls the entire way home. I’ve been really worried that this harness wouldn’t be able to withstand the ware but so far it shows no signs of it. It’s also super cute and easy to take on and off. My pup is not yet 6 months and is already about 70lbs and is extremely strong.
