This Band is Easy to Replace and I Love the Purple Color!
A little over 11 months ago, I purchased the Fitbit Alta Fitness Tracker, Silver/Black, Small and I love the product! It helps me stay more active and makes me more aware of my overall health. Just recently, I noticed the original band starting to peel away from the tracker. I didn't want to risk losing the device and feel that I got good use out of that band so I looked for a replacement. I wanted to purchase the same band I had since it worked well for me but this time, I wanted my favorite color, purple. Luckily the plum color looked like it would work well for me so I ordered it.When I opened the box, I was happy to see that it looked very easy to replace and it is! I ended up ordering the classic band, not one of the leather or metal bands, so I don't know how those work but the classic band is the exact same as the band that comes with the Fitbit Alta. Here is how you replace your band:1. Looking at the inside of your Alta (the part that touches your wrist), there are two silver buttons that fasten the band to the tracker. Push the button to unlock that part of the band and, holding the button down, slide that part of the band off.2. Repeat this step with the other part of the band.3. To attach your new band, simply slide the correct piece in place until it clicks.4. Repeat this step with the other part of the band.5. You're done!If you attach the band in the wrong way, just unsnap the pieces and start over. When I tried to fasten my new band around my wrist, I had a hard time fastening the band by myself, as many people have stated. Here's what I did to solve this problem. I fastened the band together into the holes I normally use and set it on the counter for a couple hours. I was then able to fasten it on myself (with a little bit of difficulty) and I wore it the rest of the day. After that, I've had no problems whatsoever fastening my band. I missed out on some steps for those couple hours but it was worth getting my band broken in. You could also have someone fasten it on your wrist and break it in that way from the start. This band is made in China. So far, I am loving my new purple band! The color is a nice change from the black band I had before and it's the exact same product, just a different color. I can't comment on the leather or metal bands since I've never used either. My original band lasted about 11 months so, as long as this band lasts about the same amount of time, I will be happy. I will update this review if it doesn't meet my expectations. If you need a replacement band for your Fitbit Alta or just want a different color for a change, this is a good choice because it's identical to the one that comes with it and very easy to replace. I highly recommend it!

There are some design flaws with the band itself, but the plum is an excellent choice.
I bought this band to replace the band that originally came with my Fitbit Alta. I have to admit I'm disappointed with the way that Fitbit designed these bands. I absolutely love my Alta and have had it for around 6 months. But a few weeks ago, the band was feeling a bit wobbly, I unclipped it from the Alta tracker (for the first time ever, actually, as I wasn't sure how to correctly take it apart), and I decided to clean off the band. The strap seems to be two pieces fused together (there is the long portion that actually wraps around your wrist, and a smaller portion fused with it that actually straps to the alta). Well, the strap was coming loose from the portion that connects to the tracker, and I thought these two parts of the strap must come apart to clean it (they do not!). When I separated the inner section of the strap, I realized that it could not be attached back to the strap. Honestly, I think the strap would have broken on it's own in another month or two, as it had been wobbly for awhile, but regardless, it seems like the wristband itself is not very well made. All that aside, I love this plum color for a wristband. My original band still looked pretty great despite being worn practically 24/7 for several months. I highly recommend choosing the purple, as it is a dark enough color not to show wear or tear too much and it looks really classy.

Arthritis is not your friend with this band
The band is sturdy vinyl that is smooth on the inside and has a bit of grip/texture on the outside, it doesn't really stick to you like I thought it would with a sweaty arm. The octagon closure/snap/button seemed to separate from the band as I tried to get it on the first few times and I thought I was breaking it. I haven't had any issues with it since. It is very easy to change out the face of the Fitbit; the place that you release it does move pretty smoothly. I usually have trouble with that on many type things.I have arthritis in my thumb and forefinger so I found it very hard to snap on to close the band on my wrist. I did find that some people used olive oil on a toothpick to help buckle it closed, that is the only way I did get it on finally, but not without pain. I did snap it together and apart several times off my arm first to try to loosen it up. Since you don't have to take it off more than once a day typically for a shower I think it will be fine..My wrist measures 6-3/4, I bought the large band and it clasps on hole 3 and 4 closest to the Fitbit; there are a total of 11 holes in the band, so I have 7 available holes to make it bigger.

Pretty bangle, (heavy) but pretty!
Wife specifically wanted a small but pretty Fitbit (narrow width and reduced diameter) HR unit. Doesn’t care about new features or colour screens. She loves this bangle accessory bracelet. Says doesn’t even know its there yet it is on heavier side, which she likes. Stainless doesn’t scratch and is shiny.Fitbit should never have stopped selling the Alta! We specifically had to go get a used one just so she could have the pretty bangle. Have already ordered other pretty bracelets so she can swap the look! All about accessorizing for her!

Stylish quality strap
EDIT:Just over a year old now and it randomly snapped yesterday. I was wearing it, went to smack a mozzie dead and heard the loudest noise while seeing something flying. Looked down and found one of the joints had come apart. No idea where the original strap is and until I find it, I cant even wear my Fitbit. For £100 this is really really disappointing so changing my rating from a 5 star to 2 star. I am not about to fork out for another one and don't want the silicone bands either so going to try one of the cheaper metal ones on Amazon and hope I don't have any skin reactions.REALLY DISAPPOINTED!!Original Review:Absolutely love this Fitbit strap for a few reasons.1) I HATE those silicon straps synonymous with Fitbit. The closure is pants and I've lost 2 fit bits because of them plus I hate the material.2) the closure on this is secure and easy to use with one hand.3) this feels like it's solid build and quality. Not like some of the cheaply Chinese alternatives available on Amazon.4) I love that the Alta has stylish options like this one which look elegant.Had it a few months now and so far so good!

Colour choice, genuin product, dont buy cheap claiming to be genuin on another selling site!!
Cannot fault this item. It's exactly what I wanted. It is totally genuin and comes in fitbit packaging. Dont waste your time buying any others on another selling site we all know which claims to be a genuin replacement fitbit strap for a fraction of the price of this one ...it's not genuin. And when faced with the proof of pictures of the inferior product compared to the genuin had no choice but to refund the money I paid. This one I can wear and it can catch my clothes etc and not come undone where as the inferior one I caught it several times a day and it would fall off umptine times a day almost getting trodden on. It's not worth buying the cheap one. It looked the same but closer inspection had no fitbit stamp, the pins were slightly different and it didn't fit against watch well with a poor rough finish. One thing I will say with experience of the fitbit straps is the get a dark colour . I was bought my alta as a birthday present with teal strap end of June. (Beautiful colour) and end of july it had discoloured terrible where it rubbed clothes etc with walking. No amount of cleaning cleansed it off and made it look old. So this time I went for the plum. And that is a lovely colour . Had it now a few weeks and not discoloured at all. Feel a bit miffed I had to buy another one for this reason but it didn't look nice the way it had discoloured. Totally worth paying extra for

The plastic clips snap after a while making the strap not fit for service
I think my girlfriend was on her third wrist band, after a series of snapped plastic clips. It has been used for light duty use and as they get to around the 1 year mark, those brittle plastic clips that hold the watch to the band start to break. If you are lucky and have an old strap from a previously broken band, and the right tool, you can swap out the damaged clip (loctited in), and get more use out of it until the other one snaps.FitBit customer services were mostly helpful enough, but they can't send out spare clips, and will only replace the band under warranty or make you buy another if out of warranty.Be very wary about these genuine FitBit bands as the plastic clips give them a short lifespan. The whole experience has made us steer away from FitBit as a manufacturer, because they wont admit there is a problem and take effective action to remedy it after three bands. It is worth pointing out that the plastic clip is a safety feature too. It stops your wrist getting injured if you catch the band on something... so the safety feature is actually the problem with the lifespan.

Love the colour
Love the colour!Disappointed to find the edges going grey after only a few wears. I only wear it occasionally to keep it nice but I don't think it's going to last long. I won't wear it once it looks scruffy. I bought the pricey genuine strap for quality!?! May try a cheaper substitute to see how it compares.P.s - love the Fitbit Alta and love the fact that I can change the strap!!#longtimejawboneconvertlovingfitbit

Was happy now dissapointed
Written on 1st July 2017. Bought this end December 2016 and am now very dissapointed with the quality. Leather is all marked and has now split. I do not wear it every day as I have 3 straps, this being the only leather one. I have perhaps worn it for around 3 months on and off so I did not expect it to split like this and be so tatty so soon. Not sure if I will get anywhere as although original FITBIT strap was bought from Amazon so can only try and see
