They do the job, but -
I purchased two of these. I am moving and wanted one to be my makeup kit and the other for the sewing supplies for my vintage sewing machine. One of them the top "lid" with the knob was completely detached on both sides. Luckily, I am very handy and fixed it myself. I also didn't like how difficult it was to open it up to get to the lower sections, and wanted to be able to simply, so on both of the ones I purchased, I drilled two holes into either end of the top section and threaded the rope through it for easy "pull" to open up the unit.I like them, I like that they are working well for my intended purposes, I don't like that I needed to fix the top of one of them, and what if I wasn't handy? I knew when I purchased them that I wanted to add some way to open the sides but I wish the company had thought about that before I needed to.As for sturdiness, when you try to close them, if you don't do it perfectly straight, they can start to go off-kilter, and I can't imagine that's good for the screws and wood (which is nice and thick), but also, that might just be the nature of this type of unit.I love what I use it for. I am not certain if it feels as though it is "worth" 50 whatever dollars, and that feels a bit high for this type of unit, 30 would be more in line with what this product feels like it is worth, however, the value of the convenience, the optimization of space and organization, that is wonderful for me.

Falls apart
Opened the parcel and there was a loose screw, While investigating to see if I would be able to correct it noticed the screw below it was totally missing. I decided to check if the screw was still in the box. Not iced that there was a piece of wood in the box. Thought that was rather strange until I looked at the backside of the sewing basket and it was missing its middle level back panel. Now I know it is a good price but not when you would have to throw it away. I suspect it will fall apart piece by piece. Plus of it was going to be that cheaply made they could of at least used some sort of treatment of the wood.

Very cheaply made
Since buying this 'box' I have spent easily 2 hours gluing, staplling and nailing in all of the parts neglected by the owner. This is not a usable box unless some time and energy is put into it 1st.Best buy, build your own or go spend money and have an actual carpenter build one for you.

Terrible quality
Purchased this for my wife for Christmas. The lid wasn't glued/nailed together and just fell off when I opened the box. Parts of the frame were not glued and just lifted off. There were screws coming out all over the place. Tried putting screws back in but the holes were already stripped. Total garbage. Even if everything had been properly assembled, it's so flimsy that nobody could use this for anything other than an ornament to look at. Was very disappointed they're selling terrible things like this. Returned it and will buy from somebody else.
