Best Engine oil for Volvo Xc90
Castrol is the oil which recommended by VOLVO. Even it is written and punched on the engine oil cap. Fast Delivery There was knocking sound on my previous engine oil. Now i never heard any knocking or unwanted noise. And also the surprise is the engine noise have been become almost ZERO. Best Engine oil ever used.

I may be bias, but I've been running some formula of Castrol in every single one of my vehicles since I could drive. However, I did go through a nearly decade long phase of running every shelf oil imaginable, and this generation of Castrol Edge takes the cake. First and foremost, I run the EP platform as I like the overkill on my rig because not only do I live in AZ, but I also abuse the hell out of my cars, and when I say abuse, I mean that they are my money makers and my daily. I keep to the 5k intervals on my Tundra because it takes 6 months anyway, but in that time, I tow a lot, short trip it like crazy, floor it on the interstate or to get around those pesky snowbirds that flood our roads, we take 5-6 long trips every year through various terrain and mountainous switchbacks, 2-3 camping trips, off road, you name it, this trucks done it. Anyway, the performance from Castrol is the most consistent I've ever seen out of any synthetic in the last 8 years. ESPECIALLY For the price point. I've run AMSOIL EP and that was an astounding oil but too rich for my blood and since I change the oil at 5k anyway, I hardly see the value. As this Gold bottle Castrol is one AMSOIL won't test against, or at least, they won't post it anymore, But they'll test against the standard black one, and on their signature series, and it comes darn close, yes, they're base oil is second to none, but is it worth the massive difference in cost? Castrol is best for its heat retention and shear stability. And I think that's where this performance factor comes into play. Mobil1 and Valvoline made me think my rings were sticking and I was having consumption issues, nope, not a drop with Castrol, not on my ford, not on my Honda, my Toyota, any subaru, or my Chevy. M1 would shear to a 5w20 to by 1000 miles and I'd be 1/2 to 1 quart down by 2k. Valvoline, was better but still would start to lag the engine a little when stressed, pressures would dip enough for the engine to really start to work to keep itself cool. I'd like to point out, Castrol GTX, EDGE and EDGE EP are the only shelf oils that read "exceeds API standards" rather than "meets or exceeds". Which some would brush off as legal jargain and marketing, which would be true, but if you dive deeper into how oil batches are manufactured, then it suggests more consistency in their manufacturing. Especially when you have an ACEA rated oil in a U.S. Cafe spec. That's a pretty robust concoction. All in all, take it with a grain of salt, understand there's no vehicle in the world that operates under "normal" driving conditions and use quality, oil and filters you trust on a regular "severe" maintenance schedule, and you'll be fit as a fiddle. This bodes for all fluids, But this stuff has carried my truck and my family all over the US for the past 80k out of its 200k with consistent performance throughout the entire interval. Disclaimer: I'm not the guy you want to be asking about 20k intervals, as I simply don't do them. For two reasons. Number 1- My experience in the shop doing tear downs, and expertise tells me to follow a 5-7.5k max interval. Synthetics are superior to standard oils, as are the filters, but as I've said, not a single car on this planet runs under what any manufacturer calls a "normal" operation. Doesn't exist. Plain and simple. And even on the bottle/box it'll tell you to stick to your manufacturers recommendations for mileage. Number 2- I'm too broke to lease or trade my car in every 5 years. I own, and drive cars that are over 15 years old with high mileage, my priorities in maintenance lie in preservation rather than savings. As this bottle of Castrol and the Purolator Boss filter I run are typically on a killer sale, I happily swallow the extra 10-15 bucks I spend over Wally world for a better product every 5k.

The oil seems great and it was delivered faster than I expected it but as far as the quality goes I’ll have to wait till the next service and see for myself how good this oil really is
