That said, we purchased it again though the first time was predicated somewhat on reviews and more so on some discounts. Taste is relative, but we like dark strong coffee and our coffeemaker has a robust setting that really isn’t needed for this one. The coffee is dark, rich, flavorful and holds up very well in our little grinder. It’s not often we find a dark roast blend we want to purchase again but this is one of the few and we just ordered it again.

I've been searching for several years trying to find a dark roast coffee that is well-balanced in the spectrum of a dark roast coffee. After tasting dozens of different dark roast coffees, I have established that 'Kicking Horse Coffee, Kick Ass' is my baseline coffee.FRC's DR coffee is the first dark roast coffee that I've tasted in a couple years that I can objectively say is at the same level as KH KA.It seems that many dark roast coffee's you have to 'grow into' or 'learn to like', while others such as FRC DR and Kick Ass you yearn for.

This coffee is a good value. I am accustomed to drinking coffee that costs substantially more than this. Seeing how this brand has some good reviews I figured I would give it a try and make cold brew with it. So far I’ve enjoyed it. When I first opened the bag the beans looks nice, and it was a medium roast exactly what it says. It makes a decent cup of cold brew. Not bitter slightly sweet, what you would expect from a medium roast that cost about as much as this does. In the future I would buy this again. You pay for what you get. You unfortunately don’t get a roasted date on the bag. I wish this was included.
