Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1

Beautiful
This book is wonderful, and not too hard. I am grade 3 now and can play quite a few of the songs. My favourite is probably Harry and Ginny which is fairly simple and sounds stunning. The book doesn't contain all the songs from the film unfortunately, but the main ones are there and at such great value it is worth buying whether or not you are a fan of the film series, because Alexandre Desplat's compositions sound so elegant when played on a piano.

Beautiful score! Borderline intermediate! Buy it! :)
This is so fun to play and the heart wrenching tunes are so beautiful. Its very different from the usual pieces I play so I gravitate toward this book quite a bit. The themes are carried through the book in a very elegant way so there is definite repetition, but always coming from a different angle. I would probably consider this book to be borderline intermediate.Obliviate: Key of C- repetitive left hand, simple one note in right hand; middle to end of piece more sweeping with some accidentals and longer stretches.Snape to Malfoy Manor- Key of C- repetitive left hand through out entire piece; right hand somewhat repetitive with triplets and accidentals. A slightly more difficult piece than the previous, but once you figure it out it's one of the most fun to play.Polyjuice Potion- Key of D- This I thought was the most difficult piece in the book along with Ron's Speech. Many accidentals and naturals, larger sweeping motions, ties and slurs, and arpeggiated chords. Also switching from treble to bass clef in right hand.Harry and Ginny- Key of C- Easy. Very slow and not many notes. Great piece to start on. Beautiful.Ron's Speech- Key of C- Varying time signatures including 5/4, and 6/4; accidentals galore, slur/ties, larger sweeps with left hand, many dynamic changes, and many pedal phrases. As hard as Polyjuice Potion. At the Burrow- Key of C- Large phrasing, left hand treble to bass switching, octaves, ninths, time signature changes from 4/4 to 2/4 and back; one small phrase of 64th notes; very slow.Ron Leaves- Key of C- Bass to treble switch with right hand, pedal marks; fairly easy with a few sweeping chords, octaves and 8va (Ottava).Godric's Hollow Graveyard- Key of C- Octaves, phrasing, many time signature changes 3/4-4/4-2/4-5/4 etc.; tuplets, right hand treblel to bass; accidentals and arpeggiated chords.Farewell to Dobby- Key of C and then Db- time signature changes, notes above staff, phrasing, accidentals a many, arpeggiated chords, octaves, and left hand sweeps.Lovegood- key of C- Treble to bass movements in right hand, some staccato, very dynamic, a few grace notes, very repetitive throughout, only tough because of the speed IMHO (Allegro moderato= 144), longest song in book. If played slow fairly easy. All in all this book is great for someone trying to push out of the "easies" and into some more intermediate work!!!

Some great songs
I love the Harry Potter movies, so this book was a must have for me.Harry and Ginny, Ron's Speech, Ron Leaves, Godric's Hollow Graveyard, Lovegood and At the Burrow are probably the best ones included, but the other couple are good too.The actual songs are not that hard to play. You don't need too much skill for this book if you are prepared to sit down and practice.

Great Book
Nothing wrong with the content and the quality of the sheet music, the only reason I'm only giving 4 stars is because the book I received was in rough shape. It clearly wasn't brand new, but it was usable. Just a little disappointed, but I love the music so I can't complain.
